Noticed you're online, so thought I'd send a quick PM to say thanks for the help with the LG L1710M

Trying to get those resistances now, although values are anything but static

Maybe me, although it is a very hot day here today, and I'm dripping perspiration

    Cheers, Peter

    Bud,
with regard to my badcaps post t=23897, I found your answer to a post in fixya at this link: http://www.fixya.com/support/t887791...ematic_diagram
where you talk about a 170vdc being applied to the SMP IC. What should that voltage be in normal conditions? Also, where does one find the Source resistor? This may be the answer to my post. Thanks in advance for your response.

    Hi Budm,

Could you please send me a link where did you posted some photos with the short tester that you have made? I can't find it.
I want to make one for myself too, because I have an LG 42LG70 that keeps blowing a fuse in the middle of the board, not the one at the 120V.
I have found two blown FET transistors, replaced all the capacitors and it's still blowing the fuse.
I have replaced even the main cap. The rectifier checks out good.
Do you have by chance a diagram for this tester?

    Thank you,

    Tibor

    Hey

You seem to know about LCD's etc
My friend got an issue with: Samsung SM2433BW Monitor

Issue: To switch on monitor you need to switch on and switch off button for 6 minutes to worm up monitor. During this time monitor gives funny voices untill stop and work properly.

    =========

    What can that be ??
Is it another capacitor problem or ... something more ?!
