I had a Leadtek Winfast K7NCR18D that was replaced many times under warranty. Bad caps, and it liked to fry the ATX connector.

                      Re: Post your system.......

Since everybody is posting pictures, here is my old Compaq, complete with its ghetto cooling system and homemade speakers. The third picture shows how I added a line-level audio input. The blue wires are the signal wires and the black wire is ground.

I also have a replacement for the HP laptop. It is a Toshiba Satellite L750.
                      Intel Core i3-2330M CPU
                      4GB of RAM
                      Intel HD Graphics
                      Toshiba MK5075GSX hard drive
                      TSST TS-L633F DVD burner
                      Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit

I don't like Toshiba's choice of hard drive and optical drive and their decision to use a Synaptics touchpad, but they should last for a couple years.

Tyan S2877 Dual Socket 940 Motherboard ($50 on Ebay with 2 x 1.8GHz CPUs, 4x512MB DDR400 ECC and the coolers.)
                          - 2 x Opteron 280 Dual cores @ 2.4GHz ($15 for the pair on Ebay)
                          - 2 x Thermaltake Copper plated/pipped coolers (AS5 applied and burned in)
                          - 4 x 2GB DDR400 ECC (I think I paid about $45 on Ebay)
                          - XFX 5550 1GB ($50...Guess where...Ebay)
                          - DVD-RW/DL ($5 from the local PC scrap guy)
                          - 2 x 500GB SATA drives (Not RAID configured) (One for $25 on craigslist and the other for $5 from the scrap guy)
                          - 1 x 160GB IDE 7200 RPM ($5 from the scrap guy)
                          - Rosewill Full Tower (That guy says $5 on everything, this included.)
                          - 600W OCZ StealthXStream EPS12V PSU ($20 from Directron.com on clearance)
                          - Rigged GPU fan on Northbridge heatsink (Salvaged from something)
                          - 5 case fans from 120mm to 30mm (Pulled from scrap PCs)

Oh yeah, I paid $5 for my sound card as well, from the dude at the scrap place.

If you include the LG 19" Flatron that I got for $5, non-working, one cap and she's good as new. I get lots of monitors from that guy, most of them I can fix as well.

                          Then there's the Logitech G5 gaming mouse I paid $1 for, and my Emachines PS/2 super-slim keyboard...Also $1.

All together that's what...$237? With the monitor, keyboard, and mouse. Gotta know where the deals are people, used is just as good as long as it turns on.

~Edit~ I also just built this rig after selling my customized budget gaming PC. Black custom painted case, Sempron 2300 x2 OC'd to 2.7GHz at 30C Idle(High 40s full load) with a salvaged 939 Alienware cooler. 2 x 2GB G.Skill DDR2 800 @ 975Mhz, 250GB SATA, XFX 4650 1GB, LG Super-Multi and Westinghouse 19" LCD with built in speakers. Got $290 out of it, then I flipped it into the new Rig.

That's not counting the HP DV7 Turion x2 @ 2.0GHz, 4GB DDR2 800, 250GB SATA and ATI HD 3200 Graphics. I got that in a semi-working state as a trade for swapping out some LG guts from 23" widescreens.

Lady just gave it to me with a botched Vista install, broken casing pieces and an overheating CPU. $20 for a new touch/media panel, AS5 on the CPU/GPU instead of the crappy thermal pads and a fresh Windows 7 64-Bit install...She's running like a beast, for almost nothing. Oh, and she idles in the high 40s, haven't really loaded her down yet.

Sorry about the edit. Don't like to bump threads.

Yep, the K7NCR18D was a Socket A board, and was purchased right before Leadtek stopped selling them. It was most likely a Foxconn underneath.

The Winfast I'm running now is about 5 years old and has performed flawlessly (knock on wood). It was my brother's PC before it got handed down to me.

Finally, I got around to fixing up the mess of wires in my siugnature PC (well, kind of - it still looks a bit messy around the bottom and behind the motherboard tray - partly because my Delta DPS-750CB doesn't have any cable managment features). Now I'm not too embarrased to post a few pictures of it and my fixed up cables.

C Hegge That is a fine looking mess. I don't see a single thing wrong with it at all. I have a new "neat" PC and I have wires all over the place. The next thing I'm buying is a wireless keyboard and mouse. I'm tired of all the tangled cables...ect. If there was such a device that could make my flatscreen monitor wireless I love to have that too.

There is a fifth dimension, beyond that which is known to man. It is a dimension as vast as space and as timeless as infinity. It is the middle ground between light and shadow, between science and superstition, and it lies between the pit of man's fears and the summit of his knowledge. This is the dimension of imagination. It is an area which we call the Twilight Zone.
