Gateway MD2419u Media Test Failure

With no hard drive, this unit displays this on bootup:

PXE-E61: Media Test Failure Check cable
PXE-M0F: Exiting PXE ROM

Here is a picture:




Then I tried to boot to a Linux-Live CD, and although
at first it boots up fine, it ends up with this garbage on the
screen:




Jesus, I hope this isn't a motherboard issue!
