hmmm, I notice that the mnfr numbers are pretty much uniform across each brand. at least thats what i've seen with nichicon and rubycon

though I should get some screenshots of the surface mount codes for certain series and add them to series specs. Like how rubycon TZV's-a marking of CTZ would mean its 16 volts.

hmm ya know what that actually is the ONLY way to tell what series ones like those are, cause they don't say 'TZV' on them. I might have to do some rethinking on this one. Perhaps maybe add a tagging system. Put everything in a comma delimited field, for TZV it would be like 'CTZ,ETZ,VTZ,jTZ'. Cause none of them actually say 'TZV'.

yay at least I caught this fact somewhat early, and it mostly applies to surface mount and smaller caps

see people *THIS* is the kind of shit I need to know before hand. I want people to be able to type something into the database and find the exact cap they have, find a exact or better replacement, and find where to buy it (if it exists here on BC, have that link first)

is there a real type difference between "surface mount" and "smd"?

No.

SMD stands for "Surface Mount Device"
