Recently Tennessee legislators showcased their lack of smarts here:
http://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=19660 Not to be outdone, Kentucky legislators first mandated that their state standards for school tests must be based on national standards, then they were shocked to find that the resulting Kentucky Biology tests prominently featured evolution: http://arstechnica.com/science/2012/...biology-tests/ (yes, I noticed too that the URL misspells evolution) |

"Kentucky is hardly the only state that has issues with evolution, though. Both Louisiana and Tennessee have passed laws that specifically target the teaching of evolution. These state-level efforts, however, are now running up against national science standards that accurately depict evolution's status as a well-supported scientific theory. Kentucky will certainly not be the last state where the conflict between local desires and national standards ends up creating problems." Nice job making us start to beleave some could be related to monkeys. |

The shocking part is not that these legislators were "shocked to find evolution" in the Biology test, but that they were too dumb to know that it would be, plus too lazy to even have a look and find out before adopting the standards. It is an amazing act of legislative incompetence. |
