Default Goofy non-standard CrapXon

I have an otherwise decent 12V 3A plugpack let down by craps. (Oh so familiar...)

What's bugging me is not that the caps are crap, but that the primary cap is a custom-sized CapXon KW. It's 68µF 400V and 18mmD x 25mmL. It's bulging on top and leaking around the positive lead. The plugpack wouldn't start up, and I'm pretty sure this is to blame. A longer cap would be blocked by the fuse and inlet.

The secondary caps are 2 x CapXon KF 1000µF 16V 10mm and 1 x Teapo SC 680µF 16V 8mm. None of them are bulged, but best to play it safe.

There's also a Teapo SEK 100µF 25V 6.3mm near the transformer which I figure should be replaced with a low ESR cap. Anyway, the big cap is the main problem. Curiously, CapXon has the size mentioned in the KM series - yeah, like that's gonna help . I then looked at SamXon's KM series, but that didn't take me anywhere. Guess what the only other manufacturer with a 68µF 400V 18mmD x 25mmL general purpose cap was???

Rubycon and Panasonic both show an 18x25mm part:

I'll consider them. But guess who I was thinking of when I wrote:

It appears to have provision for a 5V output as well. There is a second output on the transformer and an empty position for a second rectifier. Curiously, the 5V and 12V lines on the PCB are linked for 12V only. Come to think of it, I could probably modify the unit for dual outputs. Only real difficulty would be finding a second pi coil. The 12V rectifier is SB10100FCT.

There is a bit of discolouration of the PCB tracks on the primary side (the secondary looks fine), so maybe it was too hot for the cap. The switcher is a PFF6N60.

The dual-outputs feature would of course be used to power a HDD. This unit actually came with a HDD enclosure. When it wouldn't start up I cracked it open and used a different PSU.
