Remove capacitor without damaging the board

I have an old Mikrotik board with one bulging capacitor. It still works, but the cap doesn't look healthy.

I have tried replacing it, however it seems to ignore my soldering iron like it's a toothpick. I do suspect an industrial-strength lead used during manufacturing.

How do I remove it without damaging the PCB and (more importantly) surrounding components which might be more temperature-sensitive.

Im going to take a guess that its a through hole cap;

I add a small amount of flux at the base of each leg of the cap from the back of the board (not so much the leg); hold the tip of your iron on one leg of the capacitor at a time until the solder melts enough to push that leg through, swapping legs working the cap until its free;

A good iron makes the world of difference;

Other people on this forum will likely have better methods, but this works for me 👍
