    Help identify this ELNA caps please

    I just bought ELNA 4,700uF/16v
    my camera has no battery now, the picture will upload later, sorry.

    here are it's details,
    case size: 12.5x35mm.
    gold printed on black sleeve

    16 v

    I've download ELNA catalogs 2004, 2006-2007, 2007-2008 and 2008-2009
    and not found any matched of spec. 12.5x35mm. 4700uF/16v

    I would like to know it's series and specifications.
    please help me find it's datasheet.

    gold on black elna's i have here are special audio caps.yours were made week 35 of 2007.

      Why they doesn't found matched in catalogs.

        Yes. I think Black-Gold says audio.
        All their 'normal' ltyics have white writing.
        Might be a special order size.
        Most of their audio caps are 85c.
        I think only one audio series is 105c.

          It's look like RK series very much, just 105'C and gold printed.
          Could be possible to get exactly datasheet of it, or Is it fake?
          Is it suitable for Power Supply output filter on 12V rails?
          please advise.

            Might be fake.
            Might be a custom ordered size.

            No series name shown makes me wonder.
            Does it even say Elna on it?

            The thing to do is look at similar equipment and figure out what is normally used where ever it came from.

              Yes, text ELNA printed bottom of negative band, look same as the photo of RK series, no series name also.

                  Those are genuine ELNA capacitors (custom made) for car audio application. Not RK or low ESR series, just 105oC ... maybe equivalent to Panasonic NHG or Chemicon KMG, KME

                    Those aren't RK simply because the temp is wrong.

                    That circle-S in place of a series designation suggests to me they are special ordered caps but that is just a guess.
                    They are either fakes or special order.
                    They aren't using the el'cheapo bungs so my best guess would be special order.

                    Short of sending samples to Elna for validation there is no way to know for sure.

                          Elna might be nice and send it to you if you contact them but odds are without a contact number for the order [so they know who they made them for] they won't even know.

                            I've put one of them to a PSU on 12V rails (single 12V cap, L filter), 12V look ok. He He.
                            Normally, How long of their ELNA caps for audio life?

                              As long as temp and ripple current does not exceed the capacitor ratings, it should be fine.

                              I don't think it s a good choice to use those ELNA caps on PSU 12v rails. I will try to post the specification of similar ELNA 16V, 3300uF on Monday. The ripple current rating is quite low IIRC.

                                to used for PSU, between these ELNA 4700/16V and Samxon GF series (only I can get locally) 2200/16V, Which one would be better?

                                  The Samxons are your best bet. I use GF Samxons too, never got a failure.

                                    The ESR is more important that uF but I think I'd order some Samxon RS 3300uF 16v from Big Pope.
