    Identifying these capacitors

Can anyone recongize these capacitors? They're on eVGA motherboards. I'm wondering if it's a known bad brand.

    Thanks.

Perhaps if the photo included any of the writing, it might help?

they look like polymer capacitors from one of the taiwanese brands

can we have a shot of the logo of the cap near the coil?

        Re: Identifying these capacitors

I'm actually looking to buy this motherboard, so I can't take a photo of it - sorry.

I got the photo from this review here: http://www.motherboards.org/reviews/...ds/1533_1.html

The rest of the board looks high quality so I was hoping the caps would be good.

        Thanks for the responses though.

          Re: Identifying these capacitors

ok basically evga said that they were using all polymer capacitors on their motherboards. this is a good step and i believe no other manufacturer is doing this on consumer boards. unfortunately they look like taiwan brands. the polymer caps do not fail in the same manner as the electrolytics though but if they are badly made can make problems.

you want to know whether to buy the board? the problem is that there is not data on fails for taiwan polymers, they are quite new. i checked the link and i see another taiwan brand i recognise on that board.

if the choice was between that board and another with taiwan electrolytics i would go with the evga with the polymers. Anyway you really need to inspect the board before purchase to check what caps are on the board and not the review model. this is a problem with most brands recently if you check some of the threads on the forum, the caps differ on different models.

So Lelon caps... and they're charging around $70 for the 'free' motherboard.

                        Hello!

I need to change the capacitors on my three original Xboxes.

Two of them are 1.6B revisions and have Hynix RAM, and the other one is a 1.6 with Samsung RAM.

The 1.6 has the infamous Nichicon HM capacitors around the CPU, which have all bulged and started to leak. This Xbox no longer powers on.

The 1.6B revisions have Rubycon MBZ capacitors that all look fine, but I’ll change them in due course. Both of these work fine.

I’ve seen some excellent threads on the forum about replacing/upgrading capacitors, but I can’t...

Need help identifying capacitors on an MSI MS6163 ver 1. motherboard
                        by varkatope
                        Hey there, retro fans.

I have an MS6163 version 1 board I'm trying to repair which was obviously used as a donor because it's missing a few parts, mostly capacitors. There are few high quality images online that would allow me to read the capacitor values (bad angle, blurry photos). I thiiiink I've figured out most of the values for the missing ones except for one in particular, number C210, which is in the bottom-left of the attached photo. Could someone with this board be so kind as to take a look at theirs and tell me the capacitance and voltage values of all the highlighted missing...

degradation of solid state capacitors in motherboards?
                        by amelbye
Hi, I have a question regarding a motherboard with SS capacitors that I'm having trouble with. Every now and again it would give overclock failed at boot even when not overclocking.

Recently more often, and the last few weeks at every single boot. It seems like the typical capacitors needing to warm up, then everything is fine.

Weird thing is the capacitors are all solid state. Do SS capacitors degrade the same way as normal caps? Is it worth trying to recap the board?

I have already replaced the PSU.

                        The board is a gigabyte x79 ud3....

Help identifying components EVGA RTX 2080 Black Edition
                        by trepachka
                        Hello,

I have this EVGA RTX 2080 Black Edition (Printed EVGA196) graphics card that works just fine when idling but quickly heats under a load.

I noticed fan speed always stays @ 0 rpm which is a problem. Under close graphics card examination, I found a burn spot near the FAN connector. Also, both pins 5 and 6 on the PCIx1 key are showing 13 ohms.
Voltage injections on either of these pins has revealed U628 heating up. I am including a photo of this component. It's some kind of a mosfet switch with markings "ELMAC" (letter "C" has underscore)....

AA and AAA battery charger capacitors?
                        by slybunda
hey all, iv got my favourite battery charger here which iv had for many years probably 15 years now or maybe even more. it still works good but thought id open it up to clean the dust out of it, lots of dust inside but now its clean and noticed 4 capacitors inside it and wondered if i should replace them.
                        it has inside:
                        2 x 47uf 16v caps 105c branded as Su'scon (lol sounds sus to me)
                        2 x 470uf 16v LZ105c branded as G.Luxon

not heard of these brands are they any good?

iv attached photos of the charger and the board inside for an idea on the type of...
