    Re: Microsoft Mouse Quality down

Thinking back I must correct the question:
It was: "What is the fastest mouse driver".
    Speedy don't drive.

      but conspiracy!

"Speedy's cartoons have come under fire in recent years for their alleged stereotypical depictions of Mexicans and Mexican life. Mice in the shorts are usually shown as lazy, womanizing and hard-drinking. Speedy is the only character capable of saving them from this lifestyle. Speedy also wears an oversized sombrero and sometimes plays in a mariachi band. It is implied that Speedy is promiscuous when the other mice say "He [Speedy] goes steady with my sister" "Speedy Gonzales goes steady with everybody's sister!"[1]"

hehe.....ridiculous thing is this: mexicans don't seem to mind.
but it seems in usa you have white folks who are more mexican than mexicans themselves...

Whoever is putting Speedy 'under fire' is pathetic.

That stereotype existed LONG before Speedy did.
Speedy has been around for 55 years.
Not reasonable to judge a 30-40-50 year old show based on current attitudes.

          what a dumbass.
I think I'm a dumbass too because I followed those instructions to repair one old Logitech iFeel Mouseman (I stumbled into that post because I thought it was an issue of that model) and managed to cure the "dead left button" issue: in my case the copper plate was too bent, preventing the contact on most clicks.
I don't know if Willa's mice share the same issue: the spray deoxidizer trick may work and I'll try it next time I have a dead/intermittent button before disassembling the switch. Anyway if I were you, I'd think twice before calling someone "dumbass" without any evidence he's wrong.

well, it can be another issue: if that copper leaf is bended so easilly to lose the touch to another surface i dunno if that thing could be called switch at all.
            chinese toy, perhaps.
that might as well be the case, true, but if so, he's the guilty of not replacing that crap with something that can be called switch....for example stuff kranshaft linked.
because what is the end result of bending the leaf? how long untill it goes back to previous(faulty) condition? i wouldn't bet that will last long.

i mean...my old genious was really an old mouse(6-7 years) saw a lot of clicking, and there was nothing wrong with the switches when i retired it. it was a case of plastic not being that good as a bearing(rollers that hold the ball).

but ok, dumbass is too strong word. but i feel he didn't fix that thing properly.

in my case the copper plate was too bent, preventing the contact on most clicks.
            uhm?
from his guide it seems intention should be to exactly bend the spring away to make it work better.
if it's too bent then it should have contact all the time(?)

I was actually watching a show on the history channel hosted by Lewis Black about the history of humor. The British comic Jimmy Carr says he dosen't do racial jokes because he believes they are wrong. All the other comics on there said they do them because, whenever they say the joke, wether it be about a african american, mexican, etc... the people in the crowd look at the person the joke is making fun of. Often they find it the most funny, therefore so does the crowd.

My father uses the repaired mouse since I repaired it in 2006 (IIRC): from at least 2 years now. Next time it starts malfunctioning I may consider replacing it, but until 2 days ago I didn't know online shops sell mouse switches nor I looked for them.

You're right here: I meant it was too little bent, out of shape.

how many of you tried cleaning it first?
I just opened my old Logitech ball mouse again since the right button was sticking when clicked. I didn't have WD40, but I tried isopropyl, and it seems to work just as well. Of course I had to remove the little copper piece because I couldn't clean the contacts well when it was in there.
Also, as opposed to the overclorcker's quide, I just straightened the curve on the copper piece which made the button a bit stiffer.
So far the mouse works great again. I'll try a little Counter-Strike later to see how it works and to see if it breaks again.

Well, a recent "normal" Intellimouse with just 2 buttons and scrollwheel I took apart had much smaller buttons than these we are talking about

But that is also the only mouse I've seen that had buttons different from these we are talking about
