Yes, I was pretty confused by that. The whole PCB (and even casing) had a datecode of late 2005, but the caps inside had 2002 datecodes.
I didn't save the PCB though. I took the transformers since they were of real sizes (real 16,19 and ERL-35 transformer) and the rest of the PCB went into the trash.
The parts ended up in another Deer of the same configuration (I should mention the "B" variants of Deers have proprietary transformer orientations, so a normal ERL-35 transformer out of anything else than a Deer will NOT work.) that I am currently in the process of rebuilding into a decent ATX power supply.
