Braun 3756 Series Toothbrush won't recharge after changing battery

This is the third one of these I've ended up doing now, and the only one that did not go successfully. For reference, the insides of it look similar to what is shown in this video. After I installed the battery, the brush roared to life, but it seems to not charge up completely or properly somehow. I've yet to measure voltage on the battery, (will try to do that next weekend) but the pitch of the motor is slow enough that I don't think that the actual charging mechanism is working properly. I have an 820-3435-B bought in by a customer that is not turning on. I have PP3v42 @ 3.292V, PPBUS_G3H @ 8.48V and PP3V3_S5 @ 3.298V. I do have amber light on the charger. All the other voltages are pulsing including PM_SLP_S4 as well. Any have any pointers where to start looking because, it can be caused by a horde of issues. Schematics attached.
