And one thing to remember is that this time the processor and graphics are included in one chip. Which if it gets damaged when reflowing, the console will most likely have to be scraped since you cant just put in a replacement without having to change several other chips and programming etc.

Try with a different power supply or open it and see if you have bulged caps.

I found this thread here that has a similar problem and it was due to bulging caps on the power supply.

Yes. Chinese made and all the crap behind it that its european design is all BS. Your machine is the same as the LY IR PRO SC (built by the same factory, with some slight changes to confuse people), The Achi IR Pro SC, and the Scotle IR PRO SC, you just pay more for the Bauer.

So anything you find for these machines you could use to help you.

Without the right equipment all you're gonna be doing is a temporary fix, and for this, you dont need any equipment, you can start by borrowing your wife/sister 's hair dryer.
If you wanna do real repairs, then you better save until you have about $1200 and get a Honton.

They can both perform the same type of job and handle a wide variety of boards.
The R-490 is easier to operate because you only need to enter the setting for all the three zones on the integrated lcd display.
The R-392, same as the R390, has an annoying condition that the top and bottom fans keep running as long as the machine is powered on. Only way to turn them off is by pressing a switch that then heats up the IR plates all the time

The R390 is outdated. The R-392 is the revised model.

I had not seen or noticed the specs for the square wave (0.1 to 100khz), makes sense now. My first time playing with a function generator and thought it was supposed to produce a nice square wave up to the unit's rated 20mhz frequency.

Hi,
I purchased this item from ebay and I'm checking everything within the reach my limited knowledge. So far everything looks good but I have a question to ask anybody with a similar unit or anybody who understands this concern of mine.
So my concern is weather this unit is functioning properly when generating a square wave signal or if it needs calibration/repair.

Attached is the user's manual, plus pictures that show the "square waves" I'm getting on my scope.

As you can see when I go higher on the frequency, there starts to be some distortion....

Hey guys found my problem after a response from rigol support department. Turns out that I had to try on channel 2. Dont know why and the user's manual say nothing about it but as soon as I took the reading on channel 2 it gave me the right reading without even pressing on the auto button.

Alright will continue messing with it tomorrow. Couldn't get it to give me the right readings. Think will need to read more.
A question. For this reading does it matter if one uses the ground clip and connect it to the board's ground?
I'm practicing reading the crystal from a computer motherboard. It's a 14mhz one.
