Missing 12v in asrock z77 extreme 4
1 Attachment(s)
Hi Folks:
I have this board and attached a GPU that created a short in 12v pciex port lines (the slot). Something smoked with white smoke but nothing looks burned. Around the VRM was some smell. No idea if from GPU or motherboard. Nothing looks burned from GPU or motherboard. I do however have many points where there should be 12v and there is 374 ohm to 12v atx line. I post image with blue circles where there are 0 ohms. I was thinking to bridge with wire as pictured by green line since I find no other component that could be damaged and assume maybe a cooper line got damaged. Any ideas?? This is the link for board view file https://easyupload.io/kz024c Everything disconnected from +12v is connected between them. I tested with continuity. But reads 374 ohm to +12v atx input port. |

Another thing, I pulled some mosfets from VRM (3 of them) and they are totally ok as measured by transistor tester. So I soldered them back into the board and tested they where well connected with the meter. And another detail is that q958 and q951 that work together read 0 ohm from gate to drain. But they read good when pulled. They are controlled by this chip I add datasheet on the link https://easyupload.io/ud0xio

Connecting a wire from 12V ATX to anywhere else that should be connected to that rail according to the boardview, would not cause any harm
