Re: L4973V5.1 Power supply giving too much output voltage

13v may be too low - it starts to switch below the rating.
maybe thats why it failed.
check the zener datasheets

Re: component help marked "5JRA"

no, the device is temporarily re-assembled.

it's just a 3pin sot-23 package with power going in, ground and power coming out.
i just dont know the voltage or the current limit.

Re: L4973V5.1 Power supply giving too much output voltage

datasheet has the info,

the reference pin expects 5v1
so you need to calculate what ratio that resistive divider is.
then for 5v1 out, you can calculate what has to be going in.

Re: L4973V5.1 Power supply giving too much output voltage

that diode has markings.

from the size it could be 1.3w

Re: Airthereal APH260 mcu appears to constantly reset

i'm not concerned with the 400v one,
it's the smaller ones that may be dealing with high frequency's

if you want to try an experiment,
ground all the springs and see if it still does random...

i think it's a regulator - anybody know it?

Re: Airthereal APH260 mcu appears to constantly reset

if those springs are touch-switches i would resolder the transformer and replace all the caps with good low impedence ones.

any electrical noise could be picked up as a "touch" on the springs!

Re: How is called that compound that glues components on the PCB?

not exactly, it's NEUTRAL-CURE silicone.

cheap crap has acid in it that eats the plating off wires & stuff.

Re: ESR meter upgrades

if anybody makes more, use a 44pin mcu - then you can have 128k flash and not be restricted to 32k.

Re: Cap Replacement MSI K8N Diamond Plus and ASUS A8N SLI Premium

stand back when you first test it.

i had a board unused for years, powered it and a rubycon MCZ exploded.
i think it became de-polarised in the bag!

Re: Nintendo Wii power supply

that seriously does not look like i would expect from nintendo.
although i never opened a wii psu, i am 99% sure that's a 3rd party replacement.

Re: ESR meter upgrades

yes,
the problem with changing fonts is that you need to take into account the shorter number of characters you can fit onscreen so it doesnt wrap or make a mess.

Re: Load Testing Audio PA Amplifiers

i remember a 50ohm load project in a magazine years ago,
it was 2 sheets of tin with a huge number of parallel metal-film resistors soldered between them,
and then it was suspended in a paint-can...

Re: Load Testing Audio PA Amplifiers

you probably need to blow some air over those.
not a huge amount, but enough to stop them being able to burn anything - like wire insulation!

Re: ESR meter upgrades

well you could try making your own.

you need the avrgcc compiler and associated tools.
i think those are in the arduino suit.
or use a Linux machine

Re: 4017 counter reset problem

most alarms flash the lights a different number of times for "arm", and "disarm".
you should just make a board with some fets or "high-side drivers" on it to drive the light circuits.
