Re: RCUnlocker

After using RCUnlocker, you are not supposed to get an unlocked devmode anyway.. You just need to go to devmode to clear the machine. After that you will be able to log into a random account in...

Re: mec 16xx dump with info block

Jtag uses different connector, not the keyboard cables so I highly doubt you can use those. Got to make one yourself. Like I said, if you have only one machine, stop thinking about the keyboard...

This answered your question.

Re: mec 16xx dump with info block

It doesn't matter AT ALL because you need to disassemble the laptop anyway to move that resistor. So just use jtag solder pads and don't bother with keyboard connector. You should use keyboard...

Re: Remove_SMM... UEFI.

So not an unlock, just a bypass :) But useful anyway in some cases.

Re: RCUnlocker

Your 32MB file seems broken to me. I am not sure why your password was not removed but maybe you are still having issues with your programmer.

Re: RCUnlocker

So if it says wrong chip, try another chip. 16MB is the one you need.

But it's always good to make backup of the 32MB chip just in case.

Re: How to know if 840 G5 has single or dual chip

But you did not ask about unlocking :) All Elitebooks should have both main and EC chip. What you really want to know is, which chip to flash.

Back up both of them and use unlocker only on 16MB...

Re: RCUnlocker

Just back up both main and EC content (and be sure to verify both), then there won't be any problems.

Re: ASUS F550Z no backlight

Yes, either cable or LCD is faulty then and burned out that inductor. So first be sure to remove that short by replacing faulty cable (or screen) and then you can test by shorting/replacing....
