Re: Dim Clock LCD on Jenn-Air wall oven

You could test this theory by dumping the EEPROM on your new board and replacing/flashing the EEPROM on your old board.

Re: Digital Equipment Corp (DEC) Starion 919 Restoration

Have you ever tried replacing the battery on a Dallas RTC? It can be done with some skillful Dremel & knife work: https://ardent-tool.com/misc/Dallas_Rework.html

Re: Whirlpool Refrigerator LED lights flickering

It might work. However the long term solution is to figure out how to fit a 120v led bulb into the space. I used one like this:

Re: onn. (Element/Walmart) 32" LED add missing PC audio jack?

Yep MENU+1147 works to get into the service menu. Also MENU+0000 does the same thing. I looked all around in there but did not see any settings for audio inputs. Oh well it was worth a try but I give...

Re: onn. (Element/Walmart) 32" LED add missing PC audio jack?

Yes sir, I did try it while displaying a picture on the vga input. I can adjust the volume, toggle the mute, etc while on this input which makes me believe that it wants to work. So I was hoping for...

Re: onn. (Element/Walmart) 32" LED add missing PC audio jack?

I dug into this a little more and I think the main SOC is a TSUMV59XUS. It is amazing that all of the inputs (HDMI, analog audio & video, USB, etc.) get fed directly into the chip where it does all...

onn. (Element/Walmart) 32" LED add missing PC audio jack?

I picked this up yesterday at Walmart, a 32" LED TV (model #100002458) for just under $100 to use in my shop. A few months ago, the older models used the 'Element' brand name but apparently now they...

Re: Whirlpool Refrigerator LED lights flickering

Given that Whirlpool is the General Motors of the appliance world, what else do you buy then? Before this debacle I have always thought their stuff was decent and they have good parts availability....

Re: Whirlpool Refrigerator LED lights flickering

Do you have a link to the rebuilt boards? I can only find one board that appears to be professionally refurbished for $97 which incidentally is only $2 less than the price of a new board. If it was...

Re: Whirlpool Refrigerator LED lights flickering

The output connector from the top light is wired in series to the lower light and the freezer light. So you have 2 options: 1. Eliminate one of the two and splice the two wires at the eliminated...

Re: Whirlpool Refrigerator LED lights flickering

That's a good idea. You could eliminate the lower fridge light, clip its connector and splice those two wires together. Then you feed 120v on to the output connector at the upper fridge light and get...

Re: Whirlpool Refrigerator LED lights flickering

Yeah they all flicker at once if not working properly. I think bad LEDs is the cause since there seem to be so many of there out there that are failing early in life.

Re: Whirlpool Refrigerator LED lights flickering

The guy in that link did exactly what I was suggesting. Except he cut off all the connectors in order to just crimp connectors onto the ends of the wires. What he has done to the two down line lights...

Re: Whirlpool Refrigerator LED lights flickering

I was thinking about something along those lines. I think I would de-solder the 2 connectors from the LED board. Then I could solder a pigtail going to a light socket, LED strip, etc. to that...

Re: Whirlpool Refrigerator LED lights flickering

I think you are on to the cause with the bad LEDs leading to burning out the resistors. My fridge light is just about dead now. I think replacing the caps extended its life just at a little. Now the...

Maybe isolate the fade in bit and just tie the gate voltage of that transistor to Vcc? I might have to buy another one...
