Re: Fixing a laboratory waterbath

That is just a 1N4148 small signal diode, neither a zener or a diac

Re: Bad vizio v505-g9 backlight or video board.

45v is the led supply, which might be high indicating an open string. There seem to be 9 led's per string at 3v each would be 27v. The 4 return lines are 0 volts likely because the led driver is in...

Re: Can Anyone Identify the Value of This Component ?

Is it the sot23-5 next to the inductor? My first guess is a Torex XC9140A

Re: Fixing a laboratory waterbath

Based on what you said, this seems to be the configuration. You say 2 zener? are there 2 zeners? or only the one?
It is possible it is not a zener but a diac

Re: Fixing a laboratory waterbath

The triac is pulse controlled. There are control pulses on the primary side (from the control board) the triac has the gate and one MT connected to the secondary of the transformer. With no pulses...

Re: Fixing a laboratory waterbath

One thing that can happen with heating elements is they can short to ground when they heat up, the internal element expands and in some cases breaks through the insulation and shorts. This can burn a...

Re: Jvc EM65FTR 65 No Standby light DEAD

Are you saying you ordered and received a new eeprom? Dot facing same direction? same direction of what? pin 1 is marked on both the ic and the board

Re: Philips PUS6501 - no picture

So just to be clear, you changed both Q8101 and Q8102, correct? Usually when there are internment backlights it is one of the led's or one of the connections in the panel that is at fault.
IC8101...

Re: Sharp LC-80LE632U 2-5 blink code

The panel IS likely bad, but, there are options to try, There may be a shorted mlcc on one of the panel boards, there may be a bad panel driver ic on the side tabs that in some cases can be removed...

Re: Philips PUS6501 - no picture

This is impossible, the backlights can not operate if the voltage on Q8101 Drain is 2v. R8101 (0.1Ω) supplies 385vdc to Q8101 Drain

Like I said If Q8101 was shorted, Q8102 may have been damaged so...

Re: Samsung UN70NU6070 TV Issue - HELP!

Do you have pictures of both t-con boards? it is possible they could be for different models. You can't always go by the BNxx-xxxxxx number you need to use the number on the white sticker. I suspect...

Re: Fixing a laboratory waterbath

The transformer may step up the pulse from the drive circuit, but it could also be for isolation, isolating the driver board from the triac which would be connected to the ac line.

Re: Fixing a laboratory waterbath

I was also thinking about this and I suspect it is a pulse transformer and not a relay. Likely similar to a Schurter IL series
What is your plan for the transformer with the leads ripped out?

Re: Fixing a laboratory waterbath

Now that I see the under side of the board, that to220 is likely a +5volt regulator ic and not the relay driver. The relay is driven by the heater control board so that would need to be traced to...

Re: Fixing a laboratory waterbath

You need to post a clear (in focus) high res, picture of the trace side of the board the relay is mounted on.
Looking at the top suggests the small bridge rectifier and the 470f capacitor are the...

Re: Trying to locate this safety cap

It is just a film cap across the bridge rectifier DC side, to suppress high frequency from the pfc circuit. But if you want a link to the original, here is one:

Re: Philips PUS6501 - no picture

I had made a mistake in post #4, Q8101 was NOT the pfc mosfet, but is one of the backlight driver mosfets.
If Q8101 was shorted, check the gate driver circuit, D8101, R8112 (47Ω) and R8113 (10Ω),...

Re: Adjustable dc power supply and tcl led strip

You should be able to light the entire strip by applying voltage to the center plug, I will assume that there are only 2 wires connecting each strip to the power supply board. If there are 3 wires to...

Re: Samsung UN70NU6070 TV Issue - HELP!

It is unlikely to be the backlight, I would first check the source, possible bad hdmi cable? The next thing I would check (reseat) is the LVDS cable between the main board and t-con.

Re: Jvc EM65FTR 65 No Standby light DEAD

On the main board, +19 supplies UP18?, which outputs +12v,
+19v supplies UP1? which outputs +5VSB. I will find the correct ic numbers, I believe they are up18 & up1
