Consoles with large thick PCBs are very different to small delicate mobile phones.
I wouldn't even think about putting a phone on my Scotle (clone?) BGA rework station, it's far to large and...

Re: 47LV5400 Component Values and Schematics

I don't think it's value is too critical, but I'd suspect something else maybe shorted, like the mosfet(s) below it.

Re: BIOS flashing techniques?

It all depends on what needs updating but generally if it's dead I remove it from the board to program. If it's on a working device, it all depends on how the BIOS update is provided as to how it's...

Re: CH134A Programmer - Can't write to BIOS chip

Glad you got it fixed.
I've seen it mentioned a few times, usually whenever there are issues reading on the board as it's always worked before.

Re: Sony KDL-50W828B sound but no picture

I'd try giving it a gentle clean with a cotton bud and some isopropanol alcohol (IPA) before playing with tape.

Re: CH134A Programmer - Can't write to BIOS chip

Remove it from the board and try again. There are usually components interfering with it when you read it on the board.

Re: systemd?

Yes, that was my point they might use it as users do, but the vast majority don't care how things work.
Similar to the way they don't care about the registry in Windows, or how their car engine...

Re: Soldering station thoughts and guidelines

Yes, from one side of the stage to the other. I have a working distance of around 140mm at the 1x setting and about 120mm at the 2x setting.

Re: Soldering station thoughts and guidelines

No idea, it has w5x eyepieces making 5x I think.
On the lowest setting I see 34mm across and on the highest magnification I see 13mm.

Re: Soldering station thoughts and guidelines

Yes, I think 10x is still too much. My microscope is a 1x and 2x with w5x eyepieces. It stays on the 1x position 95% of it's time.

Re: Soldering station thoughts and guidelines

Agreed, I do think it would be a handy thing to have and something I had thought about in the past.
