Re: Looking for the datasheet of this 5.6uF Elna capacitor

@Momaka: This is a good idea as this one measures a bit badly (around 2Ωs of E.S.R.) and quite high loss. Tipically this kind of capacitor as a E.S.R. inferior to 1Ω (measured other series took from...

Re: $20 "500W" PSU From MicroCenter, how bad can it be?

Can you upgrade capacitors (from 1000uF to at least 2200uF) on the secondary to check how much ripple goes down? 250mV is absurdly high, too much even for quick tests.

Also 220uF on the primary...

Re: Improving CRT geometry by upgrading capacitors

I rely on a PCIe VGA card with direct VGA output.

By the way, the CRT is still working perfectly. Planning to find a bigger monitor and tune everything till the geometry is almost perfect.

Re: Advice on replacing some mid80's caps

Samyoung capacitors are not related to Samsung. The SM series should be general purpose, so pretty much any replacement will perform well. Use a Panasonic FC if you want something better than an...

Re: Improving CRT geometry by upgrading capacitors

I agree.

Too bad that time is passing and the plastics, even with very good monitors, are both yellowing and degrading. The age of the plastic material goes the point that you have to be careful...

Looking for the datasheet of this 5.6uF Elna capacitor

I am looking for the datasheet of this (quite old) Elna capacitor. It is rated 5.6uF/50V, CE85° 0010 (S), the serie is CE-BP(LZ).

https://i.ibb.co/x5kV65R/elnacebplz.jpg

Thank you.

Re: Reuse the autotransformer of a 220-110V stepdown

40W should be enough as this unit will be used mainly for testing.

I have another one but it is sealed. Planning to open it with wires intact so you guys can check if it is indeed reusable without...

Re: Improving CRT geometry by upgrading capacitors

Because the quality of the picture, its contrast, the blacks, the colours and the sharpness beats hands down the quality of any LCD I've encountered so far.

Obtaining a perfect geometry is howewer...

Re: Reuse the autotransformer of a 220-110V stepdown

Yes, it automatically switches between 110 and 220VAC.

This is a close-up of the unit:

I was hoping to use the transformer without the circuit as the PCB...

Re: Reuse the autotransformer of a 220-110V stepdown

Judging by the connections, but I am not sure about blue wire:

Re: Reuse the autotransformer of a 220-110V stepdown

The unit is quite generic and not available currently on eStores for a comparison.
The PCB is marked LLD57/040ASC.

Reuse the autotransformer of a 220-110V stepdown

I would like to reuse the autotransformer of this device, which converts 220 to 110 and claims to be bidirectional.

This transformer has 0-220V inputs and 3 output wires. One goes to a diode in...

Re: Improving CRT geometry by upgrading capacitors

I suspect it as well. My multi-meter is quite cheap though so I take its reading with a grain of salt and derate. Not that I would not derate nevertheless when it comes to delicate circuitry with...

Re: Possibly rebranded Panasonic capacitors

I've used Würth capacitors (general purpose series) in the past and they seem to do their job.

They are quite cheap, so you can have fun with poly-modding at a convenient price.

Re: Rubycon BXA genuine or not?

That one is not genuine for sure.
Rubycon capacitors do not have concentric lines on the bottom:

Re: Rubycon BXA genuine or not?

Rubycon BXA are for LED and inverters and they are radial, not axial. They are made for circuits with high frequencies and starts at 160V like written by R_J.

I suspect that the ones bought from...

Re: Are this caps something special?

Just use 50V parts and you should be okay. Kemet produces 50V parts for both 10 and 33uF tantalums, search for T52X serie.

Use a Panasonic [email protected] SMD electrolytic, it should fit. EEE-HC serie.

Re: Coupling Capacitor In Video Amplifier/Driver Circuit (CRT TV)

My choice of 160V and 250V capacitor is currently limited to capacitors which exhibits mediocre E.S.R. (8 Ohm and 16 Ohm despite them being unused but I'd assume that this is their de facto E.S.R.)...
