Re: Kind of a different question...

That's a good idea ... I'll have to see what I'm dealing with once I get the PSU apart. The default configuration of the PSU is an adapter with just two prongs sticking out... no power cable at...

Re: LED Resistor Calculations ...

I suppose I could just put a buck converter on there and drop the voltage or find some surface mount resistors and replace them.

Re: LED Resistor Calculations ...

I have the same spec LEDs here cause you get 100 of em for $7 on amazon ... and I soldered up 6 in series with a 6.8 ohm at the end that's reading 7.2 on my meter ... cheap ass resistors ... but the...

So I ordered a few PCBs from JLPCB ... among them, is an LED panel I've wanted for a while ... this is what it ended up looking like:

Re: Kind of a different question...

Big goose egg ... but I can still connect a wire to it on the inside of the PSU and use it as my point of entry.

Re: Kind of a different question...

Well, Hre is a photo of the extension cables that I guess Apple use to sell ... notice there are metal contacts where it would be straddling that metal disc ...

Re: Kind of a different question...

So I did a little poking around and apparent Apple makes ... or use to make ... a three prong extension cable that you would swap out with the two prong attachment on the PSU and apparently this...

Re: Kind of a different question...

Could you ummm ... elaborate a little on this ... "change the coupling internal to the PSU from the ground output of the laptop wire to the ground pin you just added"

Sounds like you're saying...

Re: Kind of a different question...

Why as a matter of fact ...

So is there any way to fix it other than trying to find a power supply designed to work with a MBP that is properly grounded?

And why am I feeling that buzzing...
