Re: repairing traces...on a fine pitch board?
Yeah, definitely, though repairing this module would go with the above module and the number of 2G modules would be even once more...
Anyway, this machine with three 512M modules will not get...

Re: 878d H-E Error
oscilloscopes are not a magic test everything device, and dont think it will help much unless you happen to also have a ramp generator circuit, and even then you still need more equipment.
Though...

Re: repairing traces...on a fine pitch board?
Current dilemma : cannot get debug information from a dead 512M DDR2 module.
Need parts for a 2G DDR2 module that I rootcaused a failure.
Sacrifice pointless 512M module to fix a much more...

Re: Getting lucky mixing DDR modules?
FSCK.
My DQ45CB will run 2x2+2x1 = 6GB but fails with 3x2+1x1 = does not POST or corrupts RAM When it does boot, it reports 2x2+2x1 in BIOS insisting "dual channel" but fails OS/memtest boot.

Re: Kind of a different question...
if it's a true ground pin why doesn't #%&*$ offer a 3 prong head for that charger?
But even if they do, where's that Y capacitor? Is it in the head?

Re: DDR2 resistor packs... 0804?
I'm not that used to working with SMT, hoping that device really is 0804?
Was looking on my other devices and couldn't find a matching device, would be very sad if I ordered a device and it wasn't...

DDR2 resistor packs... 0804?
Are those typical resistor packs on DDR2 modules 0804 (2010 metric?) 22Ω x 4?
Wondering what I need to buy if I can't find a sacrificial board with one... which will be annoying if I only need...

Re: Kind of a different question...
Ultimately whichever pin, most likely the negative pin output, needs to be connected to earth ground. The capacitor that currently sits there should be disconnected from the power rail that it's...

Re: repairing traces...on a fine pitch board?
Triumphant(for now!) Used 30AWG wire and cheap crap orange flux that I had lying around...
DDR2-5333 DIMM module seems to work once more at least at DDR2-3200 speeds...
Now whether or not I...

Re: Kind of a different question...
You need a three prong plug from the wall to the PSU and change the coupling internal to the PSU from the ground output of the laptop wire to the ground pin you just added...
A lot of work, yes. ...

Re: Overclockable Dell computers.
Yeah no SMT on Core2 machines...
Comparing my machines, seems 1MHz Core2 (FSB) =~ ⅔MHz 2nd/3rd gen Core (IMC) at the same frequency... Not sure about newer unfortunately but likely it will get...

Re: Post your worthless and/or pointless repairs
True I'm debating whether or not I want to sacrifice this 512M DIMM in case it too could be repaired, though technically sacrificing it for a module 4x larger is an obvious choice...
Would be nice...
