Re: Remove rear panel Sony Bravia KD-65X7500F

On a set I worked on recently I had to use a plastic piece similar to a guitar pic and and an old credit card to slide between the joint and slide up/down to release internal plastic catch.

Re: Which capacitor to buy as a replacement

Ripple current does matter however the Panasonic range of electrolytic capacitors are a good choice. No doubt there are other makes but they tend to be my preference.

Re: Which capacitor to buy as a replacement

They would be fine. Match the leg spacing, width of capacitor and also its height if in a confined space.

Re: Vizio E701i- A3

BL-ERR is backlight error.

I'm not 100% certain if it is a led problem or a fault on the power supply board not switching on the led driver circuitry.
Perhaps someone else can offer advice at...

Re: Vizio E701i- A3

Did the Tcon_ON 12V come up when you tested that?

From quotes from a previous post

Next the voltages at the connector was tested

Re: Vizio E701i- A3

Disconnect the mainboard from the power supply and use a 1K resistor between CN201, Pin 1 (3.3V) to Pin 11 (Led_On) and see if the backlights come on.

If they do then connect the 1K resistor from...

Re: Vizio E701i- A3

Just found this in another post on this model so it looks like the backlight voltages cannot be measured with your meter.

Re: Vizio E701i- A3

There's a few missing voltages
Pin 11 (Led_ON) = 3.5V (approx) to turn the backlights on
Pin 15 (Tcon_On) = 3.2V (approx) which should switch 12V to Pin 14 (12V Tcon)

However it could well be a...

Re: LG 50PJ350 plasma blowing Y-Sustain board

You say you found a fairly low resistance between VCC and ground of the IC but don't say what value. Does VCC also supply other IC's (components) on that board such that the fault could be at a...

Re: Vizio E701i- A3

You need to measure all the voltages on CN201
Pin 1 Name = yyvolts
Pin 2 Name = xxVolts
Pin 3....
Pin.....
Pin 15 Name = zzVolts

Re: Sony KLV32U300A starts up then shuts down

Are you certain it's KLV32U300A and not KLV-32V300A

The led fault code for KLV-32V300A is attached

Re: Samsung UA46C8000 Vertical lines

Generally it is noticeable. Check along the full length of the panel strip.

Re: Toshiba LED Chromecast 65 65L621U

If you turn the backlights down will it stay on longer?
It could be a led(s) problem which when heated up in use is failing especially since you say the sound continues.

Other than that you would...

Re: Samsung UA46C8000 Vertical lines

I would agree with RJ. Remove the bezel and inspect the panel strip. Handle the panel strip with care since it is bonded to the panel and can be damaged.

Re: TV Sharp LC 37D42U (DPS 178AP)

Disconnect the main board from the power supply and connect BU5V using a 1K resistor to PS_ON and a second 1K...

Re: TNPH0783 and compatible boards

If this diagram (TC-P42X10L) matches up to your TV then 14 blinks says it's an audio fault.

Re: Samsung UA46C8000 Vertical lines

That would only be a partial solution. Even if you can the next thing to find out is why the ribbon cable burned and try and identify where the fault lies. If it's the Tcon then that is replaceable....

There's also an smd resistor in the photo I posted that I could not see on his original photo. Is it on your board and can you see its value.

Re: Lg 32lb5700 no power on led

Why would the smd capacitor C701 be missing? It does look as though it is. Was this TV working for you or do you have it for repair? Has the mainboard been replaced or worked on?

Re: Samsung UA46C8000 Vertical lines

It looks as though excess current has burnt the ribbon cable either as a result of a fault on the panel strip connector or the Tcon itself.

I think the prognosis is not very good but I hope I'm...
