Re: Palit 980TI JetStream 6GB - keeps burning VRM(s) in 3d mode

These drmos are sensitive to overvoltage on the 5v rail, something to check!

Re: Zotac gtx 1070 mini Not detecting 12v 8 pin

This is something to do with the sense pin in the 8 pin connector, look at some similar schematics, you are using an 8 pin power connector right, it won't work with a 6 pin one?

Re: Gainward Phantom GTX 980 - mosfets w/ integrated driver NCP5369

Probably only 1 of these is blown, but the VINs will be paralleled and the VSWHs also (through the coils)

You can either check the GH pins for shorts to identify the faulty one, remove the 3...

Re: GTX 1660 BIOS Beep Error

I would check the bios chip pin 1 cs with the scope, you should see it being pulled low when it is read by the gpu and if so maybe there is a issue with the bios chip or a bad flash etc

The card...

Re: GTX 1660 BIOS Beep Error

This can be broken pcie caps on the 1st lane, bios issue, something wrong with pexrst circuit, something worse...I'd start by checking in diode mode, red probe on ground the pcie edge connector for...

Re: Gigabyte Aorus 1080ti - card not initialising

Yeah gh and gl, I would expect a 5v overvoltage event to have blown up a running drmos completely so if it seems ok then probably it is.

I think I would remove the up9511 then check the...

Re: Gigabyte Aorus 1080ti - card not initialising

Good man, yeah dunno about the drmos I take it they are not shorted source to drain? You can check the gate high and gate low pins for shorts.

Re: Are these output caps supposed to be shorted on a Zotac 1050 ti

Yes just 1 ohm, probably less than 1 ohm

You would see a short on one of the 12v rails if these mosfets were shorted, normally the gate will be shorted too, which you have checked anyway.

Re: Are these output caps supposed to be shorted on a Zotac 1050 ti

They should not be shorted, but these are presumably on the core vrm - so you will measure the core resistance on here, which is likely <1Ω

Re: Gigabyte Aorus 1080ti - card not initialising

Yikes, its had an overvoltage on the 5v rail it would seem. I know the FDMF6820a drmos cannot handle more than 6v, similar thing happened to me and when the 3rd drmos popped it took the gpu memory...

Re: Gigabyte Aorus 1080ti - card not initialising

Probably the uP9511 unfortunately :( You can try voltage injection and see what warms up.

Re: Gigabyte Aorus 1080ti - card not initialising

Strange yeah should be OK if scope has the same ground reference. Still looks like interference, since surely this is a digital signal.
