Re: Alienware 15 R3 Motherboard Issues Help Plz!
Replace the battery first. Some charger designs utilise power from the battery when the system power requirements exceed that of the adaptor. Given your adaptor shuts off, that is the likely scenario.

Re: Mack book pro A1707 lcd problem
Apple have (or had) a service program for it, however its confined to 2016 models only. Since they were only manufactured from October 2016, it only covers about 3 months worth. It's the same issue,...

SVOD3 debug ZIF programming PCB
Recently got this off the SVOD team, but it came needing assembly plus some 10K resistors. I used the PDF on their website to configure the jumpers/resistors, but can't get it to recognise any ITE,...

Asus X550CC (F550D) component identification
Have a X550CC motherboard with some slight liquid damage. There are 3 corroded resistors; PR8512, PR8513 and PR8516. The first one (PR8512) is missing off the board, but very well have fallen off. I...

Re: x541uvk r2.0 motherboard no display
Just had that exact same model here with 80ma current draw. No schematics for this one either.
I did the same with BIOS and EC. There is no response at all with power button. Thermal camera showed...

Re: iMac 27 Late 2013 - Fan noise , OS very slow
From memory, that error code means some sensor data is missing (hence the throttling and high fan speed). I think Apple Hardware test only supports iMacs up to early 2013 unfortunately. You'll need...

Re: laptop screen pull glue strips
I managed to get some Tesa bond and detach (product number was 70465) from adhesives.com.au about 18 months ago. They custom cut a few rolls to the widths I wanted (6mm and 10mm). Cost me about $50 a...

Re: Macbook Pro early 2011 - no audio
Board number would help. Track/via damage is the most likely suspect around that area. Via's can be underneath the resistor track pad itself or the test point. If one end of that resistor is going...

Re: How can we prevent 19v entering SOC?
The OEM's could put an avalanche diode or some other voltage transient device in there if they wanted to. But they don't. And they could have insisted Intel et al to keep using socketed designs...

Re: Lenovo NM-B421 carnage
Apparently the unit was dropped - can't see how that marries up with the damage seen. Anyway, ended up writing it off as likely to have CPU/PCH issues.

Lenovo NM-B421 carnage
Lenovo E480 with NM-B421 motherboard came in dead. Pulls about 300ma @ 20V via USB-C and no reaction to power button.
PU702 (NB691GG-Z) for +1VALWP was clearly shorted, along with PU801...

Re: DELL 3521 PS_ID Woes
I'd strip out all the protection stuff and recheck. PD901 is a diode clamp for ESD protection, PQ900 for over-voltage, PD902 a zener to again limit input voltage. In theory, removing all those...

Re: DELL 3521 PS_ID Woes
IIRC, the one wire chip in the charger gets its power from the laptop. When power is applied it sends out a small burst of data to identify the charger type etc. When I've looked at this previously...
