i cant find the service manual .
you could email the makers and ask about the code ..failing that good clear pictures of the circuit boards might help

had one recently where the owner complained about the noise .turned out to be a very cheap car radio . another thing in the old days there was a choke inline with the positive was in the fuse holder...

if one end goes to ground it should have its rated voltage right across it . but only if its good and the supply to it is working like it should .. first see if its shorted .

ignition is more of a ticking noise . alternator more of a whine both increasing with engine speed . disconnect antenna first to see if noise coming from there ,

if it isnt shorted or open its likely ok .. only way of testing is with a power supply and resistor and voltmeter .. could of course simply test in circuit .

shorting amplifier headphone jacks by simply using headphones as intended should be fine because they have resistors . well any i have seen have .

shorted speaker wires . mismatched speakers to amp ..too low ohms . having amp turned up to clipping for too long . then there is faults like idle bias set too high . bad ventilation causing...

unsure of the current .i just turned the volume up some . maybe 10 or 20 watts worth and then fireworks

i would think there is a bridge rectifier for the main rails .. check for the +- voltages there .

i normally put a strand of wire through the hole and call it done .. has to carry enough current though .
