Re: Xbox - frag

Forgot to update the thread...

I got some help over at the ogxbox forum, and it was looking more and more like a corrupt BIOS, so I eventually got a modchip (Aladdin Advance), installed it, and...

Re: Samsung Galaxy Buds - charging

At the 200k setting, I'm getting a value of about 190.

Would that be what to expect?

Re: Samsung Galaxy Buds - charging

Tried that, and even when getting a few millivolts through the air, or through my finger, the meter drops to exactly zero when touched off the contacts, in either direction.

Re: Samsung Galaxy Buds - charging

If you mean the pins on the charging case, I don't know, I don't have one to hand.

If you mean the contacts on the buds, I don't know that either, as the battery is dead (or the buds are damaged...

Re: Samsung Galaxy Buds - charging

No, they have to be sitting in the case, and the two metal contacts you see in the picture engage with pins in the case.

The case is then either plugged into a USB supply, or can be charged by...

Samsung Galaxy Buds - charging

Would anyone happen to know the voltage and current that the charging case gives to the Samsung Galaxy Buds?

And which pin is positive and which is negative?

Repairing cables - ferrite bead and strain relievers

Does anyone know how best to re-adhere ferrite beads and strain relievers to cables, like when repairing a games console controller that has had wires broken near where the cable emerges from the...

Re: Xbox - frag

Yes, the supercap is long gone. I got the unit about 10 years ago, and the first thing I checked was the supercap, which had leaked, and it was taken out and the motherboard was cleaned well (vinegar...

Xbox - frag

Have a fragging XBOX (first one), IIRC, it's a 1.0 or 1.1, it's the motherboard that uses the power supply with a single row of pins.

It does the usual FRAG behaviour, tries to start 2 times (fan...

Re: WD Elements - SMART Data

I'm not sure, it's connected to a Dell 755 right now.

But anyway, the SMART software will get the SMART data from the 2 other HDD drives (SATA), so I would assume that if there is a setting, it's...

WD Elements - SMART Data

I picked up one of these drives at a carboot sale earlier today for a couple of euro, thinking if the drive was dead, maybe I could put in another good drive to have the thing working. I've done it...

Re: Panasonic TX-48CX400B - No Video

Just tried that now...

With the powerboard to mainboard cable disconnected, I still see zero volts on the 5V standby.

But I notice that the 11.8V and 24.8V on the other pins are still there.

Re: Panasonic TX-48CX400B - No Video

No, they don't, I deduced which was pin 1 etc., based on the R6 schematic showing pins 10, 11 and 12 being 12V, and then working from there to fill in the rest. I also saw another poster saying the...

Re: Panasonic TX-48CX400B - No Video

Ok, so I got another t-con board, but I have the same issues as before, sound but no picture.

Testing the voltages on the new t-con board, I'm seeing more or less (+/- 0.03V) the same voltages as...

Re: Panasonic TX-48CX400B - No Video

I think with the possibility of getting a t-con board for 5-20 is a better shot than me trying to troubleshoot it, as I don't have the skill or equipment, or eyesight to work on these small...

Re: Panasonic TX-48CX400B - No Video

Thanks for pointing out AVDD, I don't know how long I've looked at this board and didn't see it!

AVDD is 0.01V with the ribbon cables connected and not connected.

Re: Panasonic TX-48CX400B - No Video

Thanks for that list, I'll test them out.

I don't think there are any on the other side, I'll upload an image of it, if you wouldn't mind double-checking for me.

Re: Panasonic TX-48CX400B - No Video

Re: best cheap/free scores 1.1

Found a Dell M1730 at the throwing-out place at work. Never had one in my hands before, it's a bit of a beastly thing.

The screen is cracked, it's missing the backspace and enter keys, I don't...

Re: best cheap/free scores 1.1

I know, I was joking about stripping it.

Problem with putting it on eBay is that it's hard to know how much it's worth, and unlikely to get a couple of guys fighting for it.

The boxes look...

Found this old Casio FP-6000 at the dumpster at work a few weeks back, just cleaned it up recently.

Unfortunately no monitor or keyboard, just the main box and a hard disk drive box. The disk...
