Re: Dbx 286 repair
I still think you should get or borrow an oscilloscope or something in order to see exactly what is going on inside.
BTW... on the block diagram there is a 6.5mm audio jack called insert on the...

Re: Dbx 286 repair
no unplugging anything required. Just press the process bypass button on the front panel. When pressed, a red led should turn on.
If you use a mic, make sure the 48V Phantom Power is on. Other than...

Re: Dbx 286 repair
the 7815 should have +15VDC, while the 7915 should have -15VDC. For the 7815 only having +12VDC something is already off. Either the regulator is getting loaded down, or it is bad as it cannot handle...

Re: MTS70-0512ACW going into protection
Sounds like the PSU starts up, sees a short on the output, or something wrong with the feedback, then shuts down. Post some high resolution straight shot pictures top and bottom.

Re: Dbx 286 repair
The easiest way to troubleshoot this is to inject a signal on the input, then follow it through each stage with an oscilloscope and figure out where you loose the gain. Could be an opamp thats not...

a Siglent here is also more expensive than a Rigol. It may be different for the USA, but here we get taxed stiff for imports.

If it is only doing that on...
