Re: AU101 Sansui amp schematic please
I find many old grey Elna electrolytics pretty much dead nowadays, they dry out and go low value. I'd replace them all.
You can compare DCV readings between channels. Two transistors are the phono...

Re: Recapping a Cerwin Vega Crossover help
I see a 1.5uF 200VDC and 3.5uF film capacitors, and another small one underneath, and some others as well.
Those caps look fine and if they test reasonable, I would leave them alone. If they were...

Re: Converting +/- 5v to a Usable Hz Signal
I see the wheel has already been invented. There are many aftermarket fan controllers for cars:
Summit Racing (https://www.summitracing.com/search/part-type/fan-switches) has several different makes...

Re: Converting +/- 5v to a Usable Hz Signal
You can reverse-engineer what is needed with not so much work. It's kind of two parts - knowing the engine temperature, and controlling the fan(s).
I have a peer who does ECU design and will ask...

Re: Converting +/- 5v to a Usable Hz Signal
If I understand you, you want to add a variable speed feature to the older generation ECU on/off fan control?
Most cars use simple on/off control with a relay for the cooling fan(s). In stopped...

Re: Blown cap on old dwell gauge - kal equip 2851
The old burnt resistor was GREY-RED for the first two stripes, so it's 82 something something, either 8.2Ω or 82Ω yet you measure 5.0Ω on the burnt part. Hmmm.
I would put in 82Ω and see how it...
