Re: QDI socket 370 motherboard Bad caps or dirt?

No.
Old/traditional FL series have black sleeves with gold negative stripe and text.
Newer FL series have black sleeves, but may sometimes have text and negative stripe in gray coloring.

Re: Bad caps or dirt?

Looks like corrosion from moisture / wet dust / moisty basement to me. Those are Panasonic (Matsushita) capacitors, and quite good quality. Looks like FC series (or perhaps HFQ?) Either way, no need...

Question Re: Corsair CX750M [Model 75-002019] - burned output toroid inductor

Thanks for the help so far, everyone!

So I guess we can safely say the original core is indeed a T130-45 toroid.
That moves us to step 2: finding a replacement, and preferably something...

Re: ATI Radeon HD4800 - Running Meltdown HOT!!

No problems, will do. I think I even have one of these HD4870's that I might not have modded yet (was a reflown card and I didn't invest too much time into it.) Just have to dig it out... and maybe...

Re: Enermax PRO 82+ 525W repair

^ Yup, SCK 054 is correct.
Yours blown too? If yes, check the big 400V caps on the primary. Could be open-circuit or low capacitance or high ESR.

BTW, looks like I still haven't updated this...

Re: best cheap/free scores 1.1

LOLz!
Looks very similar, in terms of specs, to my HP Pavilion 8756c (https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showpost.php?p=534989&postcount=541) PC that I found many ages ago... except, mine didn't look...

Re: LG 22EA53VQ-P "crash" after 5 min.

Could you please upload your pictures on badcaps.net forums?

For some reason, I get a blank screen when I follow the imgur links, so I can't see any of the images.

Re: xbox 360 blowing mosfet

See this diagram:

With the adapter plugged into the Xbox, you should be getting ONLY the voltage shown in PURPLE....

Question Corsair CX750M [Model 75-002019] - burned output toroid inductor

Looks like I may need a little help from the PSU experts (or anyone really! :feedback: ) I have a Corsair CX750M (Model 75-002019) that I picked up for free about 4 years ago. This is the PSU:...

Re: ATI Radeon HD4800 - Running Meltdown HOT!!

Hmmm... were they supposed to be both working? And even if not, I still dislike it when seller just slaps the cards together (when buying multiple cards) and then wraps that up as one piece. I know...

Re: Help with capacitor for Asus Radeon 6870

That little logo denotes the capacitor is made by Apaq (http://www.apaq.com.tw/en/)... which is pretty much what ASUS uses all the time.
"5KR43" string indicates the series and date code, with "5K"...

Nice! Good to hear you got to the bottom of it.

Re: need some help repairing a Jamo SW 3015 active sub

On the original diagram you drew, you indicated two 12V rails going to the signal board - one positive and one negative. Make sure both of those rails are present,...

Exclamation The Hall of Shame - Nichicon HZ series with H05xx date codes

While still on the discussion of ultra-low ESR series of caps, here is one more to beware of: Nichicon HZ series with date codes that start with “H05” – i.e. HZ made in 2005. In particular, the only...

Re: ATI Radeon HD4800 - Running Meltdown HOT!!

Yeah, 80C is not quite right for idle temps for these cards.
However, you can certainly expect to see those kind of temps (and even a little higher, like mid 80's Celsius) with the stock fan profile...

Re: ATI Radeon HD4800 - Running Meltdown HOT!!

Yup, that's a proper Radeon HD4870 (or 4890) for ya - always running hot enough to burn you. FWIW, the HD4850 (based on th same GPU chip, but ran at lower V_core voltage and frequency) also got...

So, the Q-TEK ADT-350 in the last link above - that's not actually a PSU made by Macron. It's a CWT ISO series, and...

Exclamation The Hall of Shame - Badcaps Photo Montage - Rubycon MFZ series

Well… looks like I might have to rethink/re-check (and possibly re-do) some of my personal equipment recaps that [re]used 6.3V 2700 uF Rubycon MFZ series from Xbox 360 motherboards. Here’s why:

Re: HP Z200 PSU Delta DPS-320KB-1 DEAD

Shouldn't matter too much.
I generally prefer to leave my PCs plugged in (but turned off, as in soft-off mode) to keep the mobo CMOS battery from going weak. It also keeps the 5VSB and mains caps...

Re: PSU OCZ700MXSP no +5VSB

^ Excellent find!
So looks like these OCZ PSUs fail quite often, judging by that thread. No surprise though - cheapo Teapo caps simply can't last too long on the primary of an APFC circuit. Heck,...

Yeah, that inductor is likely part of the first boosted voltage rail for the T-con, typically referred to as VDD or AVDD. Might be a shorted...

Re: xbox 360 blowing mosfet

The component circled in red is not a MOSFET, but rather a 3.3V regulator (LM1117-33 or equivalent, if I remember correctly.) It takes 5V standby power from the power adapter and converts it to 3.3V...
