I have one of the lithium jump packs. Powerful enough to start a completely dead 3L V6 Touareg. It also has USB and adjustable voltages for charging/powering a laptop.

Perhaps more/longer bottom heat. Yes use flux, it will stop oxidization and aid removal.

It's a small cotton pillow with wheat sealed inside. Two and a half minutes in the microwave gets it warm. This is then placed on the screen to soften the adhesive. It can't get any simpler.

Are you assembling PCBs ? then you use solder paste. If you are reworking/repairing already populated boards then decent flux and regular solder is all you need. Genuine Amtech 559 for me.

If you can't see any liquid damage where the film meets the screen then you might get lucky and find it's a shorted capacitor.

I use anti static clean room wipes or foam pads to clean off the flux, nice and smooth to avoid the possibility of causing damage.

It wouldn't bee the first time a Windows driver has screwed up an ethernet connection.
Uninstall the Windows driver and install the one from the EVGA website.
