Re: Swollen power bank

I doubt it's hydrogen, this is a waste of lithium if it's hydrogen.

Rather it's more likely electrolyte decomposition. The electrolyte is organic and flammable, and usually organic compounds will...

Re: Swollen power bank

It's generated gas. It's usually designed strong enough to withstand any gas generated but generated gas means that much less active ingredients. Plus gases where things used to touch will no...

Re: 12v 1uo941243c Relay repairable?

Might be easier to see the colors in sunlight too, it's not only cameras that benefit from better CRI!

Re: 12v 1uo941243c Relay repairable?

Take a photo of it in sunlight...

You know, maybe we need to start poking people to do this when they take pictures of resistors asking what color bands they are, so we don't have to trust the CRI...

Re: 12v 1uo941243c Relay repairable?

what the heck...what's the switching element in this "relay" ... why aren't these diodes and resistors potted with the rest of the circuitry if there's more in the base?

Without more data...that...

Re: Fish Tank LED Power Supply Gets Hot then shuts down

More information about the LED is required. It's surprising to have one lamp powered by 12V or whatever directly, unless it was meant for off-grid use perhaps.

Input/hot side has transistors on...

Re: Wind generator charger schematics (or load of baloney ?)

Need more details of how the electromechanical parts are made, what are the rotor windings, stator windingsl is he using magnets or electromagnets to generate the field, what commutator is being...

Re: Gateway 80486-DX2/50 Revival

hmm...technically speaking a 512MB CF card would be sufficient. Then I need to get win98 or was it win95 back on this machine...

Re: Help with blowing transistor NAD T752 receiver

very well, if both right and left match, reduce both to the lowest voltage and then put in the new transistors, and carefully monitor their temperatures as you power up. If they still get hot fast,...

Re: Help with blowing transistor NAD T752 receiver

I think we're back to square 1, and still have more unknown issues unless you can properly adjust the spread via R522. Q506 C-E spread should be around 4.2V and adjustable by R522. The voltage drop...

Re: Gateway 80486-DX2/50 Revival

Yeah I also have a 2GB PCMCIA Type II HDD, likewise does not detect properly.
Last drives that actually worked were Type III PCMCIA HDDs.

Re: Gateway 80486-DX2/50 Revival

Need a hard disk for my 486DX4/75 laptop... silly pcmcia hdd, it did not like the PCMCIA-CF adapter with a 2G CF card... :(

Re: Help with blowing transistor NAD T752 receiver

Well, worst case is you fry R520 but you should be able to go the full gamut like the other channels, but it shouldn't be able to get so high to do that if it were designed properly and no bad...

Re: Help with blowing transistor NAD T752 receiver

It's allright, but it does lengthen debug time when I don't have access to the board and actually can see the status of the board. Thankfully this does explain the weird behavior you're seeing and...

Re: Help with blowing transistor NAD T752 receiver

C518 is parallel with C-E of Q506 and is a filter capacitor for that voltage.
Q506-C is supposed to be connected to Q505-C along with Q562-B.

Conversely also ensure Q506-E is connected to Q504-C,...

common SATA adapters that support SAS?

Anyone know of common SATA controllers that support SAS? Perhaps all I'd need is one of those SATA-SAS adapters and one of these controllers?

Else will I have to get a SAS backplane and dedicated...

Re: Help with blowing transistor NAD T752 receiver

BTW, if you want more wild guesses, see if C508 is shorted. But this only explains the 0V across C-E of Q506, once again does NOT explain Q510/Q509 burning up.

A broken track or solder joint...

Re: Help with blowing transistor NAD T752 receiver

Something is clearly wrong with the left channel but I cannot help you if you report nonsensical data. It doesn't help me understand what's going on here. If you tested all the transistors as good...

Re: Help with blowing transistor NAD T752 receiver

Don't know if you took basic electronics but by Kirchoff's Voltage Law, if C is +0.136V WRT GND and E is +0.148V WRT GND (which I cast doubt on because for Q506, an NPN transistor, E must be lower...

How about an alternate question, what are the voltages with respect to...

Can't be 0V unless it wasn't powered on. Must be measurement error.

Re: Help with blowing transistor NAD T752 receiver

Q506 C-E voltage is what prevents transistors from frying and prevents you from hearing odd order harmonics in your music. This is the more important number. C-B voltage I just wanted to make sure...
