Re: best cheap/free scores 1.1

Oh my, that's an old drive! I'm going to guess it's from the early 1990s, has very basic SMART capability, it's a Series 2 drive and it's roughly 700MB in size.

(I have an AC14300R that's 4300MB...

Update on the plasma TV:

So far, all inputs that I've tested (HDMI 1 through 3, antenna) work just fine. Need to test the composite and component video inputs and it'll be up for sale.

Re: Power supply build quality pictorial. part 2

Seems like a pretty solidly built unit for 300W, just has cheap caps, a cheap fan controller, an oversight in heatsinking and airflow, and cheap caps. With some simple modifications, this could be a...

Re: A Colossal HDD Failure

I junked every Seagate in the house a long time ago, except my dad's old external and a 2004-era 40GB drive, which resides in my Network Bridge Machine.

Re: Ceiling Fan Speed Capacitor

Looks like you'll also need some 330K resistors. If you want exact values, order 2 capacitors, 1 5uf and 1 4uf, as well as 2 .5W 330K resistors and wire as shown.
