it's a 1wire eeprom made by Dallas
you can use a pic microcontroller to replace it, but you need to program in with the right code for the charger.

Re: Car radio stopped working

balance is only used to diagnose speaker problems.
just hardwire it with fixed resistors and fit a regular pot for the volume.

Re: Testing Capacitors - VLoss Changed, why?

you can check the ripple(noise) by simply setting your meter to AC.
it will ignore the dc voltage and just show the noise.

Re: Testing Capacitors - VLoss Changed, why?

vloss relates to the internal resistance,
your first test also saw the resistance of other parts on the board.
1.5% is about right.

Re: PS One (SCPH-101) disc reading issue

early lasers had hard plastic (not hard enough),
newer ones had a metal rail added.
i actually fixed one by putting a thin layer of epoxy on it!!!!!

Re: Question electrolytic capacitor from 1990`s

it takes very many years to depolarise a standard cap - your being fearmongered by assholes on other forums.

the type of equipment where we need to worry about such stuff is from the 1970's or...

Re: growing (not biological) rf noise from a car?

check the ground strap between the engine and body - remove it to check the contacting surfaces.
if you put disimilar metals together - such as aluminium and steel/zinc you get galvanic corrosion.

Re: Replacing capacitor in Original Xbox Foxlink Power Supply

you need low esr caps such as panasonic FR series.

if you see any 1200uf caps in that foxlink - change them.
in the 230v supplies they always dry up inside

Re: Sony ICF-C12W Radio Clock schematics (power)

well the transformer in the schem is 5-0-5 so maybe a 4.5-0-4.5 bell transformer would fit.

Re: Sony ICF-C12W Radio Clock schematics (power)

if it has a backup battery then it probably wont use the mains for timing,
but looking at this schematic, it probably has a special transformer to drive the vfd heaters

Re: removing glued s/mount chips lg lb series

philips use the red glue, you just heat the chip with hot air till the solder melts - then twist it with tweezers and the glue breaks.
it's weakened by the heat

Re: PS One (SCPH-101) disc reading issue

turn the console upside-down and try it.
in the original playstations the surface that the laser moved on could wear down and make the laser drop.

Re: I2C Programming - How to ?

are you sure that chip stores anything?
the "A" version doesnt, it just has control registers that i assume are written when you power up the device.
