Here's the first iteration, easier than I expected. I removed the dimmer wire from the mainboard side of the power connector and wired pin 19 of the SCART connector to it.

They usually do start up if the BGA soldering is bad. Disconnect the cable between main board and tcon. Does it power up then?

You've been using the wrong thermocouples then. I've sold my Honton a few months back but all three thermocouples tracked perfectly with variations less than 2C.
