Re: EMPREX - LM-2601 - Sw26B - ILPI-082

TDK is a reputable brand, so these should be OK. Make sure you get the 6KV ones.

I'm not sure, though, if replacing the 12pF caps with 3pF ones will work. Might be too much difference in value. On...

Re: EMPREX - LM-2601 - Sw26B - ILPI-082

This monitor is identical to a FujitsuSiemens SL3260W and a Vizio LP2626.

A burnt HV cap C519 is a standard fault with these monitors. I have repaired 4 SL3260's since 2013, all still working to...

Re: PHILIPS 42PFL7404 no back-light

This PSU is used on the 8404 series (42" and larger models) as well. There's an electrolytic cap underneath the tunnelshaped cooling plate, which is known to go bad.
Not the best place to put an...

Re: ASUS TUF Z270 Mk 2 beeps with no ram but will not boot

Yes, it's a real nuisance. I guess nobody wants to invest their good time and effort in writing a user manual, just to see Chinese sellers copying and supplying it with their knockoff POST cards.

Re: ASUS TUF Z270 Mk 2 beeps with no ram but will not boot

Although the attached document is about another manufacturer's mainboards, the list of AMI POST codes and their meaning just might be helpful in your efforts to fix this ASUS board.

BTW: I have...

Re: MSI B85-G43 GAMING no Vcore voltages.

Correct, JTPM1 is the TPM connector, JSPI1 is the connector used for flashing the BIOS flashrom. Did you insert the POST card the right way round on the TPM connector, as in pin 1 on pin 1?

The...

Re: MSI B85-G43 GAMING no Vcore voltages.

Just checking, but you did connect your POST card to the TMP or LPC_Debug connector, right? On MSI boards, they only work on TPM or LPC_Debug. When inserted in PCIe connector the POST card display...

Re: GIGABYTE GA-H81M-DS2 REV: 3.0 Constant Power Cycling

On MSI mainboards BIOS updates via 'Live Update' tend to fail quite often, resulting in a corrupt BIOS and ergo bricked mainboard. The ISP connector is then the only reliable route to flash a correct...

Re: Denon avr-x2000 no sound on main zone

Re: ASUS TUF Z270 Mk 2 beeps with no ram but will not boot

I reread the entire thread, and now see what you mean. Looks like a very annoying error, that gives seemingly unlogical error codes/leds. Hopefully another PCIe VGA card will give a display, but it...

Re: GIGABYTE GA-H81M-DS2 REV: 3.0 Constant Power Cycling

With a bit of luck this pin carries VCC or GND, in which case it's not a problem if the pin is missing. Plenty other pins carrying VCC and GND available om the socket. If it's a pin carrying an...

Re: GA-990FXA-UD7 No 3.3v

Re: GA-990FXA-UD7 No 3.3v

The clips are indeed MIA, I completely didn't notice it. As you say, it may very well be the reason why and how the cap got damaged in the first place.

I'd start by replacing the cap before...

Re: Marantz NR-1504 No power

Re: GA-990FXA-UD7 No 3.3v

I don't know if it's related to the fault you're experiencing with this mainboard, but photo 4 shows cap EC26 is damaged. It's the solid alu cap situated between the memory slots and the southbridge....

Re: Onkyo TX-NR414 doesn't switch on

The service manual shows the diode on page 14 in the Power Supply PC Board diagram (U0080). It is D9011, part. nr. indicated as KDS4148U. D9011 is connected in parallel to relay RL9001's coil.

Re: Repairing cheap chinese Led bulbs

Those look like my G5 bulbs, but heavily on steroids
Looks like (de)soldering LED's on these will be quite a challenge, as the advert says the bulbs have aluminium PCB's.

Upload a photo of the bulb, so that we know what we're dealing with. Am I right thinking you're talking about G5-type bulbs (see attachment)?

Before you start swapping caps, first check if all...
