The grey stuff is carbon particles which is common in pastes. I don't bother about the contents, its not really important anymore.
AS5 is old and surpassed by many newer even cheap pastes out...

Its a quecoo t12-952, its a decent brand for this type of T12 stations.

Is that the same with newer PC psu's (which are LLC, DC-DC) as well - no need for low esr for the big bulk cap?
There is still quite abit of space for height on the 680uf caps but not diameter....

Btwn the 500/550W Hydro G and Leadex Silver, which would you recomnend? Is the Leadex Silver using the same design as the EVGA G2 since that is what its being compared to according to some posts.

The markings on the blurry dark red one is FP 16Ah 971 16.
The rating on the SY105 A3 CC one is 1000uF 10V.

Hakko 936 wattage enough?
The older Hakko 936 actually uses a 50W heater element (888 is 65W) and I was wondering if the lower wattage will present a problem for desoldering/soldering the bigger connections on current...

Type of capacitors to use for psu?
I've read the FAQ/threads but came across this reviewer who recapped 2 psu's using Fuhjyyu and Capxons with chemicons KZE/KY but ended up with worse results.
Could it be that some psu's don't do...
