Re: Please help identify a capacitor
I appreciate your help.
So, the ".7" after the twenty doesn't mean anything? I wasn't sure if it was a multiplier or some sort of tolerance specification I wasn't aware as this is the first time I...

Thanks for the input guys, but this project is going to backburnered until after my move is complete. I will update in a couple of weeks.

Re: Increasing capacitance?
I know that I have 1500uF 16V Panasonic FC's on hand, I don't even have to go looking through my collection to find them. I might have to try putting one in.
And, yes, the 2200uF 16V FC's are...

Re: Increasing capacitance?
It is a Jameco, but there were a couple of Fuhjyyu caps in this supply. No, I don't think the capacitor has failed, this supply isn't that important to me, so I am really just tinkering with it at...

Increasing capacitance?
I am recapping a power supply and I've hit a snag, my supply has a 1650uF 16V capacitor. I can't find a suitable capacitor of those exact specs. So, since I know it is a bad idea to decrease...

Re: My first re-capping mistake and advice
Just to bring a little closure to this thread, I got the replacement capacitors in today, soldered them in place (I did replace both the vented one and the non-vented one). The power supply now works...

Re: My first re-capping mistake and advice
Is it feasible that approximately 90 seconds ... two minutes tops in my circumstance, would have caused the kind of damage you are talking about?
Both Mouser and Digi-Key sell EEU-FC1C332's for...

My first re-capping mistake and advice
So I recently performed a recapping on an Antec Smart Power PSU. I chose to replace all electrolytic capacitors, I used mostly Panasonic FC series and a couple of Nichicon HE's. I finally reassembled...

Re: Microsoft to re-design windows 8 interface.
Is it just me, or does it seem like consumer grade MS operating systems seem to skip generations where quality is concerned? MSDOS 6.2/Windows 3.1 was a really good OS (I can't ever remember it...

Re: Rant: Glossy screens
I couldn't agree with you more, I loathe glossy screens. I've been known to go out of my way to get matte screens, and a lot of the time, a glossy screen will be a deal breaker for me when deciding...

Re: Help in finding replacement part
Thank you, if I had known it would have helped, I would have posted the datasheet, in the future I will do so. But, thanks for pointing me in the right direction with this part.

Re: PC Power & Cooling Silencer 400 ATX Question
I did try it with a resistor across the 5V and 12V rails (2kΩ 5W wirewound). Same result. I will grab an old hard drive and a fan or two and see what result I get with them attached. Unfortunately, I...
