Re: How hot is too hot for an HDTV power supply thermistor

It could be a ntc 5D-15 with a temperature range of -55c ~+200 c. It will get HOT. If the thermistor was bad it would have burnt up and gone open. It is working fine.

Re: Intermittent power on - sceptre E485BV

I would suspect one of the small electrolytic caps could be bad, (going by a ay160-4hf38 picture) I would replace C4, C20, C35. These are usually the ic's vcc and startup caps.

Re: Onn Tv made for Walmart

Are you sure the ic is bad and not bad led's in the panel? Try using some alcohol to clean the top of the ic. you should be able to read the number.

Re: Samsung Soundbar No Power

How are you getting 390 volts on the main caps? I don't see a pfc circuit and the caps seem to be straight off the bridge rectifier, so it should be around 160vdc
The ic needs a VCC voltage, this...

Re: Onn Tv made for Walmart

You need to attach some clear, in focus pictures of the board, it is likely used in other makes/models.

Re: fixed but got grainy/noise picture on my plasma now -LG 50PA6500

The panel setup information may not be in the service manual but could be in one of the training manuals with a similar panel. Here is one for the 50PG20 (Page 57)

Re: fixed but got grainy/noise picture on my plasma now -LG 50PA6500

Ramp_up & Ramp_dn waveform is set with a scope, but you can do it by eye, Any firmware update on LG's site would be for the main board, the control board ROM firmware needs a special jig to connect...

Re: fixed but got grainy/noise picture on my plasma now -LG 50PA6500

There is nothing wrong with upping the VS a few volts, The LG tech even recommended it when these were a couple years old. The panel will change over time. It is also possible there is a control...

Re: Samsung Ps60E6500 power board bn44-00513A

The components for QS804, gate drive should be the same. The resistor might be 22Ω. the diode could be KDS184

Re: Philips 42PFL5432D/37 power supply issue no 12v

It's likely IC907 that is bad, you have 160vdc on R951 which supplies the ic pin8, internally the ic will produce a startup vcc of approximately 4vdc, If the ic starts and gives a pulse to Q908, it...

Re: Samsung UN43NU6900FXZA 43" 4K - Power Supply Issue

IC9101 has no datasheet, so I don't know if it has anything to do with the voltages in that area. You said the 14 volts is stable, did you check if any of the other sub voltages are also stable ie:...

Re: Philips 42PFL5432D/37 power supply issue no 12v

So the VCC is way too low, this could be due to a shorted ZD908, or the ic could be bad, The ic has a startup cell so make sure C957 is ok and not open. Then Check R974 to make sure it is not open.

Re: Sharp LC60C6400U - 2 long binks, 5 short blinks error code

It's a diode, Use diode test, it should read open one way and .5xx or .6xx the other way. If it reads shorted then it needs to be replaced with the newer version.
