Re: Philips 42PF9541/98 42" LCD TV No 1.2v error

248W=Looks like a plasma, but dunno. I dunno if even CCFL LCD TVs would even need to draw that much.

Albeit only roughly 50W more than my old Panasonic 42-inch LCD TV.

Re: RTX 2060 6gb Undetected

I was just letting you know that a problem with the card's RAM can make it look like a PC system RAM problem.

Re: RTX 2060 6gb Undetected

Possibly a VRAM problem. A VRAM problem can cause low FPS, IIRC. Also, looks like a VRAM problem can cause "cache hierarchy error" WHEA errors.

Re: Trying to figure out 2 problems with IBM G74 Black Monitor and G40 Monitor

Welcome! Cool to see that it's a CRT!

Unfortunately, I left all my CRTs behind in 2016, despite I had one that was like brand spankin' new!

Re: fixed but got grainy/noise picture on my plasma now -LG 50PA6500

We have a plasma TV, too! Despite the brand is Emerson. (I think Funai owns them)
But it sure has been trucking along! Year on the back, is 2009.

Who's the real manufacturer? Did Funai even do...

Re: best cheap/free scores 1.1

Looks like the PSU possibly killed the Asus P5N-D.

Re: best cheap/free scores 1.1

And then, RCA was hit-and-miss at best by later-on in the '00s!

In fact, I came across a 2005 RCA CRT TV with the dreaded "clicks off to standby syndrome".

Re: Westinghouse LD-4285 stuck in stanby, short on mainboard?

That's starkly familiar, expect it was a blue standby LED, with a TV that reportedly had a failure during a power problem, probably because of a nor'easter in eastern-Massachusetts.

It got...

Re: Sharp LC60C6400U - 2 long binks, 5 short blinks error code

That kind of pricing encourages scalpers, including scalping econo-boxes! No thank you!

Re: Sharp LC60C6400U - 2 long binks, 5 short blinks error code

Most likely, with 2010s' Sharp, especially a mid/middish-2010s' Sharp!

Re: I finally got one! 6700XT

For me, the best I'll get, is this RX 5600XT custom-VBIOS'ed!

With a custom VBIOS, I can get 1.9 Ghz GPU core. Dunno about the VRAM, because it seems to get flaky easily when it's simply warm, as...

Re: Sharp LC60C6400U - 2 long binks, 5 short blinks error code

That was before Hisense bought the Sharp TV division, IIHC.

And lines after one year? Ooofff! That's worse than that LG 49UH6100 upstairs in my sister's bedroom, which seems to have a writing on...

The LCLExxxxxx, is the series that apparently led to Sharp selling their TV business to Hisense!

Re: Sharp LC60C6400U - 2 long binks, 5 short blinks error code

Re: best cheap/free scores 1.1

:jawdrop:

Looks like no one around here will do that! Any RTX or even a GTX I could find, except a very-long-in-the-tooth one, are being scalped!

Re: best cheap/free scores 1.1

QFT, it's like Windows 95 on a 386 SX 16 Mhz with 4 MB of RAM, IIRC.

I suspect the caps. More suspicious is what looks like custom-branded caps!
(not known to be a cap manufacturer)

Re: Theory behind "sometime works, sometime doesn't"

I know that a bad solder joint can cause that type of symptom.
Had that with an old Bearcat scanner. (the power input connector had a bad solder joint)
