Thumbs up Re: Remote pump control ideas.

I finally went to see this pump control system in person and take some pics of my own. It's about what I expected. The tank is located up on a high hill and its control box is solar-powered by that...

Re: Paradox EVO192 alarm panel help...

No, the bells are actually not that inaccessible - I know, since we installed the whole system in two new shops that just opened up. Just takes a medium-sized ladder....anyway :D

Here are some...

Re: Paradox EVO192 alarm panel help...

It uses a 7Ah 12v SLA (UPS kind).

It's most definitely NOT the first one I install or troubleshoot, so it was simply operator error...

Our company is actually a subcontractor of the one in...

Re: Paradox EVO192 alarm panel help...

Yes, it is, but it's not shorted. Not that it'd HAVE to be shorted - its purpose would be to, indeed, blow the fuse if some numb-nuts (this guy<<<<<<<<<) pushes the connector in backwards. The fuse...

Red face Paradox EVO192 alarm panel help...

Good day folks. I had a (big) screw-up at work today: our company recently signed an agreement with a line of hypermarkets that's pretty big in EU and possibly overseas too, through which we provide...

Re: Remote pump control ideas.

Even better. Like I said - I don't know squat about this stuff. I just learn as I go, piecing together various projects and examples to form the end result :D

Thumbs up Re: Remote pump control ideas.

Nope, so thanks for clearing that out - it's probably mentioned somewhere in the documentation which I haven't read because I've become a lazy bum lately :D

One thing I DID read is that they're...

Thumbs up Re: Remote pump control ideas.

Ok, I just screwed up - L496 doesn't have eth (no RJ45)....I was looking through the specs and missed that part entirely :D F767ZI (https://www.st.com/en/evaluation-tools/nucleo-f767zi.html) has it...

Re: Remote pump control ideas.

Should I be worried my sketch is too big to fit on one of those things or other stuff down the line which would make my project not run so well on a different board than the one it got conceived on ?...

Re: Remote pump control ideas.

With my project taking shape, despite the awful code :D it's time to think of the hardware I should actually use to deploy it. Throughout the "design" phase I used my personal Arduino Mega, Pro Mini...

Re: Remote pump control ideas.

Yes, but that's the wire for the antenna - we're not sure if the antenna itself is actually inside the box....

Re: Remote pump control ideas.

Not sure where the antenna is located exactly, but I was thinking of leaving this system in place as well as a sort-of backup in case something goes wrong with my super high tech setup :D

Thumbs up Re: Remote pump control ideas.

Not necessary in this case, but could be added later on....I also managed to score the user manual for the GSM boards currently in there thanks to this chap who installed them. It's HERE...

Re: Remote pump control ideas.

I managed to cook up something on my own after all - I've been at it for the past week. As always, I'm not a programmer so my code is most likely a disaster, albeit functional....I may actually share...

Red face Re: Remote pump control ideas.

I brought my arduinos with me today at work to play with this project a bit. I didn't get very far because I only have a Mega and some Minis and I didn't bring the programmer with me so I can't...

Re: Remote pump control ideas.

No idea, TBH, how it all operates and how it's hooked up - it's probably a LAN. We use this setup for CCTV IP cameras in another town - no actual "internet" there, just a LAN which connects together...

Re: Remote pump control ideas.

Naah, our company already ran the necessary cables (or maybe even fiber - don't know yet) to hook up each site to that town's network, so we'll have to stick with whatever can be done over a LAN/WAN.

Re: Remote pump control ideas.

Not to mention I don't know how long the cable is outside the box either, so a couple of more meters there too :D

This could get complicated, though it makes sense.....I have a limited amount of time to come up with a viable solution :D

Re: Remote pump control ideas.

Seeing how the positive lead next to it seems intact and it's the same thickness, I'd say it was simply a case of "mneh - good enough" approach and they just left it like that...I'll be sure to solve...

Re: Remote pump control ideas.

Ok, ethernet is indeed incorrect. INTERnet would be more like it - there's isn't actually a cable running between the two - each box has its own internet connection and we have to make them talk....

Red face Remote pump control ideas.

Good day folks. A task was given to me to redesign the control system for a pump system in a remote location. The idea is that there's a tank which has a float or some sort of switch/sensor to detect...

Re: Running a microcontroller in car - power supply aspects

Kinda running low on pins on the Mini TBH, though not a bad idea in the long run.
