Re: Dell Precision 7510 charge battery and left side board problem.

Resolder everything back except those that caused resistance to increase when removed. I would replace those, especially PU1100.

Once you have resoldered and replaced necessary parts, measure...

Re: Dell Precision 7510 charge battery and left side board problem.

Sure, try and see what happens. If no change, resolder all ICs and replace PU1100 with a known good chip and recheck resistance value. Around 120-170 Ohm should be OK for that rail.

Re: Dell Precision 7510 charge battery and left side board problem.

Just as a precaution, check if there is no solder bridge remaining after you disoldered pjp102/3.

Dont inject voltage if the driver chips are desoldered, at 85ohms (injecting 5V max) not much...

Re: Dell Precision 7510 charge battery and left side board problem.

By all pins you mean +5V_ALW, correct? Does both side of PJP102/3 still show same value or are they different now (pin1 is one value and pin 2 is different).

Still low but 85 is better than 20, so...

Re: Dell Precision 7510 charge battery and left side board problem.

Had an almost similar issue a while back. In my case it was a dead Core voltage controller and a USB protection IC. Try removing PU1100 and see if that changes anything.

Last resort would be to...

Re: Dell Precision 7510 charge battery and left side board problem.

Easiest way in my opinion would be to just unsolder it and check both sides. Taking uz26 as example, measure resistance on pin 1,2 to ground then 13,14 to ground.

Re: Dell Precision 7510 charge battery and left side board problem.

Hmmm, try checking circuits connected to 5VALW. Refer to page 4 and 67, check the load switch IC such as UZ26.

Re: Dell Precision 7510 charge battery and left side board problem.

Post resistance to ground value on all all coils.

Re: Dell Precision 7510 charge battery and left side board problem.

Since you mentioned desoldering PJP102/3 doesn't change anything I'd start with pu101 first.

Re: Dell Precision 7510 charge battery and left side board problem.

Try removing PU101 to and measure resistance again (DO NOT power motherboard with this chip removed). If its still same, try removing PU1001 (CD3301) since you had an almost similar reading last...

Re: Dell precision 7250

Post schematic for your motherboard (also provide board reference). If you cannot find one, make a request in the schematic section.

1. Try with a known good original charger.
2. Check if middle...

Re: Dell precision 7250

How did you confirm the battery is indeed charging? Have you tried with a known good battery and see if the problem is still there?

I suggest you try the software below first to confirm if your...

Re: Dell Precision 7510 charge battery and left side board problem.

Just to confirm, do you still get 20Ohm after removing daughter boards? If you havent tried, try that first.

You need to remove solder on both pjp102 and pjp103. After that measure resistance...

Re: Dell Precision 7510 charge battery and left side board problem.

What I meant was, is PJP102/3 solder or continuous copper track? If it is solder type, i'd suggest resoldering PL102 and removing the jumper. That way you can eliminate the chip itself as a potential...

Re: Dell Precision 7510 charge battery and left side board problem.

Remove PL102 completely. Which side is which? Green arrow is pin 1 or 2 (referring to schematic).

Is PJP102 and PJP103 present?

Re: Dell E5440 completely dead

U86 is an AND gate. KBC/SIO is U38 (MEC5075), it is programmable but I don't think its an issue. You'd need SVOD programmer for that. Chip also has 2 rows of pin, 1 visible on the side and another...

Try with a known good BIOS first. The check the voltage on all the coils with laptop ON. Post your results for each coil.

Re: Dell E5440 completely dead

Thats great! This confirms a faulty PU701. Replace it and you should be good to go.

Also, with PU701 removed recheck the point where you measured 1Kohm initially and see if its still same

Re: Dell E5440 completely dead

Just remove pu701 and check resistance first. Also make sure not to power the board without the controller chips soldered!

Re: Dell E5440 completely dead

Resolder PR400 and remove PQ400. Check which side is 20Ohm. If Drain side (pin 5,6,7,8) of PQ400 is 20Ohms remove PU701.
