Re: Best cheap way to cool AMD FirePro S7000?

If anyone else has a working S7000 and a dead Asus HD6970, the cooler from the HD6970 works great. Just FYI. Haha.

Thermaltake Smart 500W... will the Crapacitors last?

Scored this for $20 BNIB sealed. Why do cheap power supplies smell worse when you first open the package than expensive ones, that is one thing I've never understood...

Anyway, it's got a bunch of...

Re: Asus KFN5-D SLI Kinda Retro-ish Rescue / Build

Wonder about that TR2. Those...

Re: Best cheap way to cool AMD FirePro S7000?

I know, it is definitely quite nice looking. Unfortunately it was just too noisy. I left that pretty but whiny solution on one of my cards and put it in one of my servers where it will be useful but...

Re: Best cheap way to cool AMD FirePro S7000?

That's an idea too. Hmm. Will try just powering them directly from 5V if it's not noisy I'll leave it like that if it is you're right I could use a fan controller and put them in series. Smart!

Re: Best cheap way to cool AMD FirePro S7000?

For $50 for an adapter not worth it :'( hence why I ended up with two cards. I will simply put one monitor per card.

Best cheap way to cool AMD FirePro S7000?

Got these for a very attractive price, my problem is they are passively cooled and I need to find a way to cool them. The S7000 is pretty much identical to the FirePro W7000, except that it has less...

HP S2331 good ole 2-seconds-then-black

Landlady came to my door because her computer wasn't working. Simple diagnosis - her monitor had died. It would show the picture for a moment then die. We replaced it with a much newer monitor but...

Re: Quality half-height mSATA SSD

I know right! Thing is it's for my Velocloud project which has so far been a failure anyway so I don't think I want to invest more into it.

Re: VeloCloud Edge 520 Problem - Unable to boot

It does, I've heard rumors it's OpenWRT based, perhaps I can port that software to a regular OpenWRT image. I guess I'll contact VeloCloud and see if they'll help me.

Re: VeloCloud Edge 520 Problem - Unable to boot

OK, so I played with an Edge 500, which is a totally different setup. It's just a typical Atom mini-PC. Stuck my mini-PCIe VGA card in there and it has a real BIOS and everything. Happily installed...

That's what I'm starting to think. I have an Edge 500 on the way as well, I'm going to play with that one and see if it too has the same thing.

Re: VeloCloud Edge 520 Problem - Unable to boot

i'm so confused why it's exactly 5 mins on the 510 and 2 mins on...

Re: VeloCloud Edge 520 Problem - Unable to boot

Yeah, I am not sure... the 510 doesn't even have the big Elite 25v 15000uF... I've attached some pics of that one.

My second 520 seemed to boot up fine with the stock firmware. When I first got...
