Re: Graphics card Schematics and Boardviews

As I recall the .fz is some weird format that requires a special viewer for gigabyte - and I am pretty sure I have it. I will check and upload it if that is the case.

Otherwise google 'Gigabyte...

Re: Mains isolating transformer advice please

I'm not sure about that - My 240V:240V 2000VA isolation transformer, bought from ebay in the UK looks like a site transformer, it has the same circular 3 pin output connector as a site transformer,...

Re: Asus Z87 Expert - No Power, LDO Regulator Gets Hot!

The more sensitive/higher resolution your meter the better, but using the voltage drop method this is less important- because with this method ohms law is working in your favour

Re: Asus Z87 Expert - No Power, LDO Regulator Gets Hot!

Yes for sure you are correct Piernov

I didn't think it through properly, if the 3.3V rail is the standby, then it isn't going to draw very much current under normal conditions so the PCH should...

Re: Asus Z87 Expert - No Power, LDO Regulator Gets Hot!

Maybe, maybe not. PCH generally get warm anyway.

When you injected the 3VSB voltage, did you use a bench PSU? What voltage and current could you see was supplied by the PSU?

Do you have a...

Re: MS-6178 Pentium III motherboard - bizarre fault with RTC oscillator

Sorry there was an error in the above post

Checking the voltage on the two Chokes (schematic page 30 VRM8.4)

VCC5 is 4.93V - 100mV hf ripple
VCCP (Vcore?) is 2.01V 30mV hf ripple, not 1.51V as...

Re: Do people still overclock?

I decided to overclock two of my rigs

Re: BGA my balls keep rolling away

I did it :d

I used the indirect heat stencil and jig.

I used the Kada 853B and NC-559-ASM flux applied with a small paint brush

I used the base off an old el cheapo soldering iron stand,...

Re: SIS 496 PCI Motherboard - working but only with graphics card in third PCI slot

Yeah I guess that is true - though didn't some famous genius say that the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again expecting a different result? :deadhorse:

Re: SIS 496 PCI Motherboard - working but only with graphics card in third PCI slot

The good news is, it's working

But I am not exactly sure why

I tried my 2Gb IDE-CF on a test rig and it detected just fine. So I put it back on the 486 on secondary IDE this time, and it...
