Re: Repairing cheap chinese Led bulbs
Those look like my G5 bulbs, but heavily on steroids
Looks like (de)soldering LED's on these will be quite a challenge, as the advert says the bulbs have aluminium PCB's.

Re: Repairing cheap chinese Led bulbs
Upload a photo of the bulb, so that we know what we're dealing with. Am I right thinking you're talking about G5-type bulbs (see attachment)?
Before you start swapping caps, first check if all...

Re: Denon AVR-X2000 mainboard caps bulging
I really wonder if and in what way the ELNA caps could be failing. Both measured completely in spec, 11.000 uF on my M4070 LCR meter and an ESR of 0,018 Ohm on my MESR-100. Could it be they fail when...

Re: Denon AVR-X2000 mainboard caps bulging
Hi Momaka, many thanx for your insights, it's always a pleasure to read your posts on Badcaps!
The X2 cap is indeed placed across the AC input of the standby PSU. I have attached page 121 of the...

Re: Denon AVR-X2000 mainboard caps bulging
The caps have no plastic discs on top, I can see the breach lines in the top of the metal can.
Sadly, the attached photo doesn't give a good image of the tops bulging. In reality it's clearly...

Denon AVR-X2000 mainboard caps bulging
I have been using a Denon AVR-X2000 receiver in my living room for several years now, works perfectly, am very pleased with it. Recently I acquired another one, advertised as defective with flashing...

Re: UA32C6900 continuous restaring
Judging by your photo 3, it appears someone has already tried to fix the mainboard. It looks like the left side of IC 2 contains a large blob of solder, where IC 1 does not. See the attached photo,...

Re: Onkyo TX-NR414 doesn't switch on
My NR414 came with a remote with typenr. RC-834M. My SR803's remote (RC-620M) works on the NR414 as well, so chances are Onkyo remotes are largely interchangable.
You might also try to get hold of a...

Re: Philips HTS9140 3d Bluray , Which caps needed?
So the pcb in the pictures is not your board? If it is, you might want to check connector CN4001 (bottom right), judging by photo 1 it has a bent pin inside the connector. Beside that, the board's...

Re: Does anyone have a ( 18CV8P ) programmer
So, it's not a GAL, but a PEEL PLD. Looks like the P at the end of the chip type designation just stands for 'Plastic' (i.e. the IC casing). As long as you obtain a (NOS?) substitute of the same...

Re: Does anyone have a ( 18CV8P ) programmer
Is this a GAL? If so, an (ancient) HiLo ALL-07a takes AMI and GOULD PEEL18CV8, Hyundai HY18CV8, and ICT PEEL18CV8 and PEEL18CV8Z. A (just as ancient) DataIO Chiplab takes these as well, with...

Re: Onkyo TX-NR414 doesn't switch on
It looks like Onkyo didn't use identical relays in the 609 and 838. You can easily deduct the relay's coil voltage from it's typenr. My 414 has a SDT-S-109LMR2 built in, the '109' designation...

Re: Onkyo TX-NR414 doesn't switch on
I'd check the specs of the relay in your amp to make sure the coil resistance is OK. If it's a 9V type the 330 Ohm you measured sounds right, so the error probably resides elsewhere. My TX-NR414 had...

Re: Onkyo tx-sr606 fluorescent display not working
Depressing the top part of this connector unlocks the wires inside the connector, so you can pull the flatcable out. This type of connector fooled me as well when I had to fix my TX-SR803 a few years...

Re: Denon AVR-X2000 trials & tribulations
I finally got this receiver fixed and up and running again. Turned out the fault was in the standby PSU. I got an identical PCB on loan, by doing measurements on both PCB's and comparing them I found...

Re: Denon AVR-X2000 trials & tribulations
I had a chance to do some further investigations on this receiver yesterday evening.
I decided to desolder the SamYoung NXA caps on the Standby PSU pcb, in order to measure capacity and ESR out of...

Denon AVR-X2000 trials & tribulations
Hi all,
A few weeks back I picked up a defective Denon AVR-X2000 from an online marketplace similar to Craigslist. Seller replied to my mail inquiry that all of a sudden the receiver didn't...
