Re: Missing RSMRST Signal DA0ZA3MB6E0

Depending on the board architecture it might be absolutely normal to not have 3.3V at SPI FLASH while indeed having 3.3V at the power button. Must not be a issue

Re: Alienware 15 R3 Motherboard Issues Help Plz!

Forget about it. Even when it has a slight crack it should be still full functional.

Re: Alienware 15 R3 Motherboard Issues Help Plz!

Yes yes, rule out all possibilities. Everything you can think off. A new DC-Jack cable might rule it out for sure. I'm pretty interested in the result although it would be hard to source more ideas...

Re: BD8616 circuit

I think I have a donor board with this charging IC and working main power rail. I'll try to take a look tomorrow.

However, if you're dealing with a P-Channel mosfet, 5V might be perfectly fine....

Re: Lenovo ThinkPad L13 18834-1M strange fault

Check the PCH for heating up when injecting. With 2 - 3A you should feel something.

Re: Asus UX330UA won't power on

We're in the wrong direction here. (EDIT: My eyes were lying here. Indeed could be GND (or whatever) after second view)

However, has nothing to do with the issue.

MOSFETs readings confirms your...

Re: Alienware 15 R3 Motherboard Issues Help Plz!

I would start checking for cold solder joints in the DC-IN circuit. Challenged cracked ferrite beads a few times causing random shutdowns, especially under load. Also a detailed inspection of the...

Re: LA-C501P No ACDRV??

Also in my opinion I can only think of colder solder joints around at charging controller and surrounding components left. Of course missing or failed resistor possible too.

Especially because we...

Re: Ideapd 5 15ITL05 wont charge battery

Start with checking the DCIN mosfets for being internal shorted.

BIOS request goes into another category here iirc

Re: LA-C501P No ACDRV??

ACOK will be pulled up from +3VL in this case so it can't be up if the LDO isn't working.

Imho best bet is to replace the charging IC right now

Re: ASUS ViviBook X512F no power

New overview necessary since you have 19V at the main power rail now.
Any coil which have voltage? 3.3V at the power button by any chance?

Re: just repaired an Inspiron 15 Gaming 7567 with the ‘ACPI BIOS ERROR’

Beside the burned Ferrite bead could indeed cause an issue it sounds more like it was revived by doing a BIOS hard reset.

Pictures of the location would be interesting especially whether there are...

Re: Dell la-9832p no charging

Test with known working genuine charger of correct wattage and check your multimeter. Voltages does look indeed to high like mentioned before.

Re: Acer Swift SF314-55G, MI4FA MB REV:2.1

To get a better overview we need a full measurement of the charging controller a) with out battery and.b)with battery plugged in. Something must be wrong in charging section or maybe faulty diode...

Re: Asus TUF Gaming F15? Is this worth fixing? PCH WARM

I guess 3.3V is present then. Anything else coming up, even when it's for a short while? Check the coils and summarize pls.

Re: help da0x36mbae0 rev e does not turn on

What is the question? When Inputs and Enable are fine you need to check the load side.

Resistance to GND at LDO3 and LX?

Re: Asus GA401QM dead, no lights.

Sorry to tell that, but that's likely a dead CPU then. you could check whether the resistance raises or not when Lifting the related coil (the one with 0.17 Ohms) or removing the DrMOS.

Re: lenovo G485 Is this cpu shorted?

You're right, this rail runs at very low voltages. But 20V went into the APU through a internal shorted High-Side MOSFET, so yes like already told. The APU is gone

Re: Asus GA401QM dead, no lights.

No offense, but something must be wrong with the probes our your multimeter. From typical design of these boards, the 5 most left coils are for GPU Core and I wouldn't expect really more than 1 Ohms...

Re: Asus GA401QM dead, no lights.

Missed the Post where you have mentioned the other voltages present. Sorry for that. :)

30 Ohms sounds pretty high for VCC Vore supply, though. Even when it is a AMD System. We have a Ryzen 7...

Re: Asus GA401QM dead, no lights.

I'd be more worried about how the GPU warms up with even no 3.3V present, since DC-IN seems to work perfectly fine. I'd like to know which voltages you measured where.
