I would replace all the strips. Ive had LEDs going blue and its better to replace all. In any case they are very small and hard to remove

This seems to be a common problem with no solution. Ive got the same problem and I checked all leds and theyre fine. Just have to wait till I get a working set in so I can swap boards.

I use a single sucker to lift a corner then slide cardboard ( from a large Tv box ) under the whole screen then lift it and put it on bubblewrap behind me. Havent cracked one yet touch wood.

Ive got the same problem. All leds light up and go off after a few minutes. Ive tried a couple of 17IPS20 boards but it looks like Ill have to get the correct board for the set. Must be a stock fault

Sorry but I dont understand why youd want to repair an old portable set. Sell him a freeview box and save your energy for a more profitable repair

If you scrape the track of a working led, you cam put a meter on 'short' setting and if its a 3v led it will light up. If it doesnt light its a 6v led.

All these posts where obviously some LEDs are faulty. You should have stripped out the screen and powered the set up on its back where you would have seen faulty non lighting LEDs.

Its a common fault. Just get switch from Ebay but be carefull with the plastic button as thats not so easily replaced or found

Unhappy Re: Samsung engineers with too much time on their hands!

I had a 50in Cello that let me remove the casing to get at the LEDs without removing the screen. Unfortunately when I replaced the LEDs that were faulty, I had a line down the screen.

Defo the PSU. Id tried a new Tcon with no joy. So PSU was my last resort. As it happens customer didnt want it back so its now in my office at home and has been faultless since repair

I recently had Vestel type 48" Toshiba with backlights ok but no video. Turned out to be the PSU though I didnt get to component level
