Re: Hisense 55k610gwn service manual wanted
Reviving this as my kid decided to take this project on with me so she got the back off. Here is a pic of the power board. Does not power on. The fuse is ok. Nothing appears fried. I have no...

Re: Hisense 55k610gwn service manual wanted
Problem is it does not turn on. The power indicator lights when plugged it. I'll be opening it up as soon as I can get enough space for it in my cramped and cluttered work space. :)

Re: Hisense 55k610gwn service manual wanted
Thanks Bud.
They don't appear to have a manual/schematic. I saw some other models service manuals free online and was being hopeful.
I know I'm getting ahead of myself, sorry. I've been out of...

Hisense 55k610gwn service manual wanted
Title says it. I've had no luck finding so far and would rather have the manual or at least schematics for this dumpster find before I even bother testing it.
Thanks guys :)

Apparently the real world isn't scary enough for some folks and they feel some twisted need to make shit up to scare themselves and others with. There's a reason why evidence is required in order to...

Re: WinXP Sp 4?
I didn't say give up on XP. I said give up trying to pass off post-sp3 updates as "SP4" cuz it isn't SP4.

Still useless to the OP and still no XP SP4, is there? There's not even a straightforward way to get and utilize all the post SP3 updates, is there? Come on. Give it up already. Nobody wants to...

Re: WinXP Sp 4?
ryanvm.net is totally useless, returns a single link to page not found. msfn.org can get you to the post SP3 updates if you specifically search for it, so it's basically a useless link by itself too,...

Re: WinXP Sp 4?
There is no official Service Pack 4 for XP, the so-called "unofficial XP SP4" update is not a service pack released by Microsoft, it is supposedly a collection of post SP1 updates in one package, but...

Re: The ghetto mod thread
I've seen that on a few boards as well back in the 80s. Not limited to any particular brand as I recall, it was just done and if it worked then it was left alone. Shitty practice but it happened.

Re: ESR meter upgrades
Thanks man.
I suppose I'd use 10-20nF and just TP1 + TP3 just in case, not like it's a big deal, just my curiosity and wanting precise info. :) I do have some used inductors I've not been able to...

The readme says:

you also need a good stable capacitor between 10 and 30nF to calibrate the new small inductor mode.
if you dont have one, just ignore the cal message till it times-out

Re: ESR good vs bad
It's fine for that type of capacitor. Those are not high temp, low ESR caps as what is needed for SMPS applications, and although they are marketed as audio caps they're basically general purpose...

Re: ESR meter upgrades
There is a difference between freq stability and freq tolerance. 10ppm tolerance doesn't mean 10ppm stability. I've seen some say 10ppm tolerance with 30ppm stability. I presume stability relates to...

I'd like a bit of clarity on the serial port. Is that for adding a USB port or? I'm just curious. I recall some earlier versions of the TTester had USB possible. How was that used with a PC? Is it...

I got an LM317 regulator smoking one day powering up a string of 8 LEDs taken from a small flashlight. I guess it's time for a better heatsink and new paste :)

Where I worked they were just starting to test running boards with smt parts thru the solder wave and trying out different glues. This was quite some time ago and smt parts were not widely used yet.

Re: ESR meter upgrades
Ok. I'm not going for the xtal upgrade yet and I'm at SVN630 for now. I haven't had any need to test xtals or resonators but it'd be fun anyway I suppose.
