i have had boards that needed a good scrub with hot soapy water then isopropyl alcohol then a blow off with compressed air to get them properly cleaned up .

one thing with new chips are you need to port the number but that's easy these days ,

more than a resistor blown then ..maybe the fuse in the meter or leads in wrong holes or something silly like that . or meter is on dc amps ..

thats twice this week i have helped someone with diodes that check ok on a meter and are actually no good . cant remember ever coming across it myself .

all it has to do is protect the rectifier and be capable of passing enough current for the circuits to work properly with a bit of overhead . without a schematic i am a bit lost .. i would take a...

i see it has a fuse .
you can roughly work out the correct resistor from the voltage and expected current draw from the circuit after the bridge .

you need to find the rest of the switch or draw out the schematic .
what value resistor supplies the other bridge rectifier ?

data sheet for b40c suggest 1.0 ohms minimum protector resistor .

will be something like 0603 .. best wait and see what others say it is ,,but it is marked as f400 suggesting it is a fuse .

1.5 AMP FUSE measure it and look up size code .

DOH .i see now the white is just silkscreen . there are a few variations of the ML1220 battery .just choose the easiest one for you .
