The solution proved to be simple. I swapped out the passive-cooled video card for another ATI card which is fan cooled.

I can now play youtube video on my 24-inch monitor and the the core temps...

Why Lubuntu?

Noticed that most of the 2020 OS Survey choose Lubuntu. I use Linux Mint Mate 19.3 64-bit.

I can see Lubuntu is a smaller install, but why is it the flavor of choice for you?
